It’s a pretty momentous year for Walt Disney World!
Disney World has its 50th Anniversary this October and as you can imagine, that’s going to be a pretty exciting event. We might see HIGH demand on the days around the 50th — especially in Magic Kingdom.
Annual Passholder Disney Park Passes for the 50th Anniversary in Magic Kingdom booked up WAY back in November. Now, all three ticket categories are completely booked for Magic Kingdom on the date of the 50th (October 1st).
This means that at this time, about nine months in advance, guests from all three ticket categories will be unable to reserve entry into Magic Kingdom on the 50th Anniversary.
Of course, we have seen availability change for booked-up dates in the past. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the 50th to let you know if availability is expanded as we get closer.
Stay tuned to DFB to be in the loop for ALL the big news about the 50th — including to see if more room opens up in Magic Kingdom!

I’m certainly more annoyed about this than the Magical Express. So, if you don’t know what kind of ticket or if you’ll be able to go to WDW, to bad too sad, no 50th Anniversary. Despite being a DVC Member? That’s pretty lousy. And I don’t mean last minute, I mean, it’s only January and I did book DVC in November as is allowable in my contract.
Will the park reservations system still be in effect by the time October arrives? We just booked a trip for then. If so as soon we get full confirmation from the travel agent , we reserve park days right? 1st time down in years.
Steven, we don’t know if the Disney Park Pass will remain in effect in October, but, yes, book your DPP as soon as you can. We are seeing some dates fill up around the anniversary (10/1/21).
