While Disneyland Resort remains closed, we’re starting to see some reopening progress.
Both Downtown Disney and Lake Buena Vista Street are open to guests for shopping and dining. And now, a hotel is planning to reopen, too!
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are scheduled to reopen on May 2nd, 2021. Disney had originally planned for this hotel to reopen in December 2020, but had to push that date back in accordance to California’s stay-at-home order.
The reopening is similar to that of Disney World’s Disney Vacation Club resorts in summer 2020: the rest the Grand Californian Hotel will remain closed while these Villas become available to Disney Vacation Club Members.
Disney has noted that other hotels in Disneyland Resort, as well as both theme parks, will remain closed. Additionally, most dining, amenities, activities, and services will be modified or suspended when the Grand Californian reopens.
We’ll keep you posted as we continue to learn more about this reopening. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!
