The 2021 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is in full bloom!
Of course, it wouldn’t be an EPCOT festival without plenty of eats and drinks! We’re making our way around all of the Outdoor Kitchens at this year’s festival to see what they have to offer. Up next, let’s head to the Hanami booth!
Located in the Japan Pavilion, the Hanami booth is home to an iconic Flower and Garden staple — FRUSHI!
Menu
While our love for Frushi is insurmountable, that’s not all this Outdoor Kitchen has to offer. Let’s take a closer look…and taste!
Food
Nothing says Flower and Garden Festival like Frushi! This “fruit sushi” is made with Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap served with Whipped Cream, Drizzled Berry Sauce, and Toasted Coconut. It’s no secret that we love Frushi — they’re the perfect bite-size portions of fruity deliciousness! We recommend keeping this dish entirely to yourself (at least that’s what we do) so you can order your own for $6.
Next, we tried the Shrimp and Crab with Spicy Mayonnaise and Cucumber Slices finished with Creamy Avocado and Violet Sauce. This is a new menu item at this year’s festival and it has a lot of good things going on in it! When you bite in, the cucumber provides a nice crunch. You get all the delicious spicy flavor from the sauce mixed with the crab. It reminded us a lot of a crab salad on sushi and it totally works. That being said, if you’re not a fan of seafood, this probably won’t be your favorite (though it might convince you to like crab!). This dish is priced at $6.50.
We also ordered the Soy-glazed Pork Shank with Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Crispy Lotus Flower, Garlic Chips, and Green Onion. It costs $7 and is packed with flavor. The pork that we were served was a little dry but we didn’t care because the truffle potatoes and the garlic chips were a HIT!
We could eat a whole tub of these and will be back for more!

Drinks
There are a handful of drink options at the Hanami booth. First, there’s the Sakura Zen Ale, for guests craving a beer. We gave it a try and thought that it was good, but not an “oh wow you have to try this!” kind of good. It’s got some nice fruitiness to it though! You can order a 6oz for $5 or a 12oz for $9.
There’s also a Pineapple Sake on the menu for $7. This drink is FULL of pineapple flavor — seriously, it’s kind of overwhelming! But pineapple fans will want to give this sweet drink a try!
And finally, the Blood Orange Sour with Fresh Mint is a new addition at the festival this year and costs $7.50. And, you could down this one REAL fast! It has a very fruity flavor to it, and you can’t really taste the alcohol at all. The mint gives it a refreshing feel and it’s actually much sweeter than it is sour.
It’s also pretty photogenic so you can take it on a lil photoshoot before you down the refreshing drink.
Overall
We were pretty impressed by the Hanami booth this year! We thought the entrees were amazing, and the drinks didn’t disappoint either. We’re continuing our journey to taste the offerings at all of the Outdoor Kitchens at this year’s festival, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for all the latest reviews!
