Did you know that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is currently celebrating Earth Month? From specialty snacks and sips and even activities, the extra fun is lasting throughout all of April!

Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life
Of course, with Disney’s sustainability goals, the efforts to go green extend far beyond Earth Month and Animal Kingdom. We’ve recently spotted Compostable Cups for our beloved Plastic Cheese (!!!), for instance, as just one example. And today in both Animal Kingdom AND Magic Kingdom, we’ve happened upon new merchandise lines featuring all sorts of reusable goodies that you can use in the parks AND take home from your trip to continue in your own efforts to go green… Disney-style!
Play, Drink, Repeat
Let’s take a look at what we found at the major merchandise spots in Animal Kingdom (think Riverside Depot and Island Mercantile), starting with the Collapsible Water Bottle, as part of the Play, Drink, Repeat line!

Collapsible Water Bottle
Mickey icons decorate this $22.99 bottle. You’ll notice that the classic Mickey shape is formed with a not-so-hidden-Mickey twist on the reuse symbol!

Done with your drink? Then simply wind the strap to collapse it for easy storing in your bag, offering the benefits of a reusable bottle without the bulk!

So, keep your eyes peeled at spots like EPCOT’s Mouse Gear (which will be replaced this summer by the new Creations Shop!) and World of Disney in Disney Springs. We’re also keeping our eyes peeled for the reusable bamboo Disney Parks Utensil Sets coming to select locations around the parks soon!

Are reusable metal straws allowed in the parks?
Edye, they are!
I saw the comment about metal straws, but I was wondering if metal utensils are allowed in the parks? I got a utensil set with a fork, spoon, and chopsticks that are all metal, and I’d love to use them in the parks, but I’m worried that the fork would be considered a weapon?
How much was the utensils? That was the only thing you didn’t give a price for

Maria, I think you should be fine.
The collapsable bottle and the utensil set are ingenious. They’re something you could use not just use at Disney, but also at home for picnics.
