As COVID-19 vaccines continue to be distributed, states are looking towards reopening.
Florida relies heavily on the tourism industry, and the pandemic greatly affected travel to the state. However, as more people become vaccinated and travel increases again, the tourism industry is slowly returning to normal.
According to Spectrum News, at the Orange County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Visit Orlando President and CEO Cassandra Matej presented on domestic and international travel numbers. Domestic travel is expected to rebound this year in Orlando, surpassing the pre-pandemic numbers from 2019. Hotel occupancy is increasing, too.
However, international travel hasn’t made the same recovery. Travel restrictions remain in place for many countries, so international travel is still largely on hold. Matej explains that “It’s going to be just a little bit longer road because there are so many obstacles, and obviously from the guidance make sure when its right to open border safely and welcome the world back to Orlando.” In fact, international travel may not rebound until the end of 2023.
Tourism in the state creates over 400,000 jobs, so it has a massive impact on the economy. With new policies constantly emerging, this situation is constantly evolving. We’ll keep you posted with the latest, so stay tuned to DFB.

Sounds good to me, less international travel means less visitors from foreign countries which means lower prices and more room for US residents to enjoy US destinations a with out the overcrowding produced by excessive amounts of foreign visitors. Sounds terrible but it works for me. The chanting of groups from South American visitors scare me.
Ones people get vaccinated and people are not afraid of getting the virus . Tourism will be back probably it 2023 . This is a good guess by the pros . A lot of states are not really open they give restaurants 10% more and more when they feel like it is all about the sciences . There are millions of people need to be vaccinated but a lot of people are not getting it . Do not want it will never get it .
