Even though Disney World reopened to guests almost a year ago, there are still lots of experiences that remain different.
Many restaurants and hotels have reopened since July or have set reopening dates for later this year, but there are a few that remain closed. Today, we noticed some menu changes at a closed quick service restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We’re talking about Fairfax Fare, located on Sunset Boulevard! Although the location has been listed as “temporarily closed” since Disney World’s reopening, the menu has received a huge revamp. This location was known for Tex-Mex and Southwest flavors, but many entrees have been pulled from the menu including Empanadas, a Pulled Pork Sandwich, and a Fajita Platter! These have now been replaced with hot dogs.
There are 4 hot dogs on the menu — the California BLTA Dog ($11.49), the Pretzel Dog ($11.49), the Truffle Bacon Macaroni & Cheese Hot Dog ($11.49), or the All-Beef Quarter-pounder Hot Dog ($9.49)! Also new to the menu is the plant-based Chicago-style “Hot Dog” Salad.
While Tres Leches Verrine used to be available at this location, two additions have arrived on the dessert menu. The first is the Strawberry Shortcake Verrine made of Vanilla Cake with Fresh Strawberries, Whipped Cream, Strawberry Crisp Pearls, and Dehydrated Strawberries for $5.99. The other dessert is the Snacking Sandwich Cookie which is made of Fluffy Vanilla Marshmallow sandwiched between Pretzel and Potato Chip Shortbread Cookies covered in Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt for $4.99.
Both of the sides on the menu are new as well! There are now Parmesan Chips  for $4.49 and Pickled Vegetables for $3.99.
Several beers have been added to the menu as well. This includes 3 Daughters Beach Blonde Ale ($10), Bold City Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale ($10), Kona Big Wave Golden Ale ($10), Tampa Bay Reef Donkey APA ($10), and Bud Light Lager ($8), all served as 20 ounces. The two cocktails are additions to the menu too! There is the Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon Lemonade (which we’ve seen in EPCOT) with Jim Bean Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon mixed with Minute Maid Lemonade for $13, and the Spiked Punch which features Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum is back on the menu for $11.
Although this is an nearly a whole new menu for Fairfax Fare, the restaurant does NOT have a reopening date. As soon as it is announced we will let you know, but in the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest food updates in Disney World!

Great. Still more carnival quality food at WDW….. No wonder Walt despised the bean counters… WDW looks more like Six Flags every day.

I am saddened to hear this. The food variety was one of many things that set Disney apart from the other theme Parks.
