For such a classic, old-school attraction in Disney World, the Jungle Cruise has been generating a lot of BUZZ lately!
As the ride braces for even more attention later this year, with the release of the Jungle Cruise movie, the Magic Kingdom staple has introduced ANOTHER new building to its riverside scenery!
Ever since we learned that the Jungle Cruise would be getting the live-action movie treatment, a la Pirates of the Caribbean, the iconic attraction has been spending a LOT of time in the Disney spotlight!
In advance of the blockbuster movie (which just released another trailer), the ride has been getting a massive makeover in both Disney World and Disneyland, which so far includes the introduction of a NEW Trader Sam scene and a whole slew of new characters!
Now to add to the anticipation, another new addition to the attraction has emerged in the form of a brand new building! Here is what the scene looked like before…
…and here is what it looks like now! Say hello to the “Boats & Baits and Bites” shack!
Filling the space recently vacated by the Pygmy Camp, the shack looks like the perfect place to stop for fishing gear…and fried piranha?!
Next to the bamboo hut is a “menu” that lists various fish, including piranha and eel, which are prepared either grilled, baked, or fried. We think we’ll stick with pork, thank you.
As we eagerly await the new movie and the new storyline for the ride, this is yet another addition keeping us excited about Jungle Cruise! We’ll continue to keep you posted on all the changes coming to the ride, so stay tuned!

In the new boats and bait shack, there is no one there. It would be cool to have cast members in there waving to cruise passengers or have culturally acceptable audio animatronics.

I like the old pigmy camp better, but could they PLEASE CHANGE that indoor temple sequence. I ALWAYS have to shut my eyes whenever our boat goes in there, because I HATE those spiderwebs!
