Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie hit theaters this year on July 30th.
The movie has made over $100 million domestically in box offices, and it’s gotten a pretty high score of 92% on the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes. With these successes in mind, Disney has officially started working on a Jungle Cruise sequel — here’s what we know so far about the film and its returning actors.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, several of the people who worked on the first Jungle Cruise movie are returning for the sequel, including Dwayne Johnson as Frank Wolff and Emily Blunt as Dr. Lily Houghton.
Also returning are writer Michael Green (who co-wrote the first movie), Director Jaume Collet-Serra, Executive Producer Scott Sheldon, and several other members of the film’s producing team.
There isn’t a release date yet for the Jungle Cruise sequel. You can watch the first Jungle Cruise on Disney+ for free (with a Disney+ subscription) starting November 12th, 2021. We can’t wait to join Skipper Frank and Dr. Lily on the pun-filled adventure cruise again soon!

Jack Whitehall has got to be returning too, right? He was ADORABLE.
And, no spoilers for those who haven’t yet seen it, but I sure would like to see them address why Frank has an American accent (they won’t).

The first half of the movie was outstanding. The second half was derivative of several films and kind of a mess. Let’s hope they get better writers.
