PHOTOS: Sneak Peek at One of the Unique Experiences Aboard the Star Wars Hotel in Disney World

Earlier this year, Disney World released a lot of details about the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience (a.k.a. the Star Wars Hotel).

Today they’ve shared even MORE information, including the date on which the hotel will open and when guests can begin to make reservations. Disney also shared a sneak peek INSIDE the hotel and we got to hear and see a bit more about one of the experiences that guests will have on board!

The Star Wars hotel is set to open on March 1st, 2022. When it opens, guests will be able to board the Halcyon (the name of the ship you’ll be boarding) by heading to the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal and boarding a “launch pod,” which will take them out to space where the Halcyon awaits.

Once on board, guests will be able to live out their own Star Wars story by interacting with characters, exploring the ship, taking part in activities, training with a lightsaber, and more. Disney Imagineers have told us that “not everything will go as planned,” and guests’ decisions will be able to impact the story.

Today, we got a special media preview of part of Galactic Starcruiser from Ann Morrorw Johnson.

During the initial part of the preview, we could see various screens with designs on them near Ann Morrow.

Then, the view opened up and we got a peek at one specific area where guests will get to participate in special activities — the Bridge.

The Bridge is the part of the ship where the navigation, power, and more of the starcruiser is controlled. The bridge is also where guests can go for training about how to navigate the Halcyon and operate its controls and defense systems.

Disney shared that out of the viewports you’ll be able to see other ships — including other ships in the Chandrila Star Line (which your own ship, the Halcyon, is part of).

During the Bridge training guests will be placed in control of parts of the Bridge! And who knows, that training might just be put to the test during your 2-night stay on the Halcyon.

Guests can start making general reservations for the Galactic Starcruiser on October 28th of this year. But, Disney has shared that select guests, including Disney Vacation Club members, Disney Passholders and Disney Visa Cardmembers may be able to get a special booking opportunity — so be sure to be on the lookout for more information about that.
