It’s that time! Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is TODAY!!!

Are you heading to Disney World soon?

Disney World has TONS of stuff planned for today (and we mean TONS), so we’ll be in the theme parks and hotels showing you EVERYTHING! From new restaurants, rides, food, experiences, and more, come to Disney World with us LIVE for one of the biggest Disney events in history!

All four parks are celebrating the 50th today so there is a LOT to see. Follow along ALL day as we will be updating this post with every detail from the day.

Magic Kingdom

Entering the Park

There was a lot of activity around Magic Kingdom VERY early this morning as we headed to Disney World’s flagship park.

We got there EARLY

The parking lots seemed pretty quiet, but we could tell that wouldn’t be the case for long.

Once we were parked, we hopped on the 50th Anniversary monorail, ready to celebrate!

We arrived at Magic Kingdom before the sun was up this morning and snagged the classiest guide map of all time.

Yep, there’s a new map for the special occasion!

 

 

 

Seriously, who knew a park map could be this pretty? And that’s not the only one, each park has a new map for the 50th!

Once the day had gotten on a bit, we heard a heartwarming overhead announcement about celebrating together! “May Walt Disney World bring joy and inspiration, and new knowledge, to all who come to this happy place.” 🥺

 

 

 

Crowds

And we were NOT the only ones ready for a big 50th day. Around 7AM, Main Street, U.S.A. was already buzzing with crowds.

 

 

 

There’s nothing quite like watching the sunrise over a crowded Magic Kingdom!

Remember, Magic Kingdom has no more Disney Park Pass reservations available today.

Since this is such a big event, we spotted Ginger Zee from Good Morning America!

 

 

 

And Disney CEO Bob Chapek was in Magic Kingdom this morning too!

 

 

 

The crowds did not subside today either. In fact, just a short while after park hopping became available, Magic Kingdom reached capacity, and park hopping was paused.

Entertainment

As the park opened, we got to see the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show for the first time since the parks closed last year.

 

 

 

And all the characters are in their sweet 50th outfits!

A day in Magic Kingdom wouldn’t be complete without characters and we saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale cruise by during Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.

We can’t even handle how fun the Dumbo Churros are!

 

 

 

These churros can be found at snack carts around Magic Kingdom and we also spotted Jumbo’s Surprise, a blend of popcorn and Twix candy pieces with a hidden chocolate feather!

Get ready to make eye contact with your food. It’s the Mr. Toad Burger from Friar’s Nook.

 

 

 

There’s also a Mr. Toad Dome Cake as an homage to the closed opening day attraction Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

 

 

 

And cap off the Toad treats with The Wild Ride itself!

Over in EPCOT, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is officially open and there are some crowds to show for it.

 

 

 

Honestly, the crowds aren’t too bad in EPCOT today. It’s mostly just crowded around Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and in lines for merchandise.

At Animal Kingdom, we started the day with the very cute 50th Anniversary Cupcake from Creature Comforts. In fact, this spot had three special treats!

 

 

 

Creature Comforts is also bringing us the Colossal Cinnamon Roll — but with a blue twist!

 

 

 

The final treat at Creature Comforts is this sweet 50th Celebration Mickey Mousse Dome!
