If you love to eat all kinds of holiday-themed (and just generally delicious) food, then the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort might be just the thing for you!
This festival will take place from November 12th, 2021 (with some booths opening on the 11th) through January 9th, 2022, giving you LOTS of time to munch your way through all of the treats. We’ve been checking out the Festival today to see what it has to offer, and our next stop brings us to a returning booth with some serious favorites from past years — but how will they taste this time?
Menu
At the Holiday Duets booth, you’ll find some returning and some new items! In terms of returning items, there’s the Braised Pork Belly Adobo for $7.50 and the Shrimp & Grits (which has been one of our FAVORITES in the past) for $8.00.
There are 2 new drinks this year! The alcoholic Pabana Cachaca Colada is $14.00, and the non-alcoholic Calamansi Melon Lemonade is $6.50.
Eats
We’ll start off with the returning favorite, the Shrimp & Grits with Andouille Sausage! We’ve seriously loved this dish when we’ve gotten it before, so we were READY to dig into it again.
Well, after trying the dish, we can finally report that it was great! It was actually really salty this year but also flavorful. There was a plentiful portion of grits and we enjoyed the sausage, though we didn’t really taste any spices.
If you’re more of a pork belly fan, you can try the Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice. This is another dish that we’ve gobbled up in the past, so we were curious to see just how this year’s version would taste.
This was another super salty dish! The pork belly was nice and fatty and delicious, and the rice was a great sticky texture that was a little crispy too.
Drinks
You might need a drink to compliment all of that tasty food, and for that, the Holiday Duet booth has 2 unique options.
The Pabana Cachaça Colada, which features Cachaça (Brazil’s national spirit), passionfruit, banana, mango, coconut cream, and lime. This drink was THICC — like, so thick the texture kind of reminded us of baby food. Still, it was good! It was on the sweeter side with a strong banana flavor, and it would make an excellent poolside drink.
You can also sip on the non-alcoholic Calamansi Melon Lemonade – Calamansi (also known as Philippine lime), cantaloupe, and house-made lemonade. If you don’t like sweet drinks, you might want to try this. It was quite tart and reminded us of clementines or tangerines. We actually liked this drink best because it wasn’t too sweet!
So whether you prefer sweet or tart drinks — maybe try this booth!
Overall
Overall, if you’re looking for some SOLID dishes with that Shrimp & Grits and the Braised Pork Belly Adobo, along with 2 fruity drinks, Holiday Duets might be a good spot!
We’re making our way through LOTS more food at the festival, so be sure to check back with us for more reviews and food photos!
