Close your eyes and think about what it takes to be admired. Are you picturing lots of loyal fans? A dedication to positivity and compassion? A spirit of adventure? No matter what your definition may look like, some may feel that the Walt Disney Company is a pretty admired organization. (Despite some people’s current frustrations)
Now, Fortune just released its 2022 list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies,” recognizing 100 major companies from across the globe. Did Disney make the list? Where did it rank? Let’s find out!
In the past, Fortune has ranked Disney within the highest category of its Most Admired Companies. We’re talking top five!
Last year, Disney held onto the #4 spot (out of 100!!!) on Fortune’s list. Disney was also ranked #4 in 2020. The only three companies beating Disney out were Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft.
So what about this year? Well, Fortune’s new list revealed that Disney is now ranked as the No. 5 Most Admired Company. The top four spots belong to Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and Pfizer respectively.
According to Disney, this will be the 19th consecutive year that Disney has been recognized as a top-ranking media and entertainment company.
Fortune’s list indicated that Disney earned high scores in several categories, including innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products/services, and global competitiveness. Whew! That’s a pretty impressive list.
A big congratulations to Disney for another successful year! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates.

That’s hysterical. When you’re beat out for most admired by Amazon, it’s pretty obvious that they aren’t polling employees. Admired by whom? The other 1%?
Jackie Shipley says
This is according to Fortune Magazine. They focus on profitability and business decisions affecting the bottom line, certainly not employee satisfaction.

Let’s not forget also off the backs of the poor working stiff who is laying out their hard earned cash.
