We’re kicking off the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and it has been one wild day!
We’ve tried SO much food, checked out all the merchandise, and watched some pretty stellar entertainment. Now, the evening is winding down…and Spaceship Earth is lighting up!
If you’ve been to EPCOT since the Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations began, then you know that Spaceship Earth has a new permanent nighttime look with brilliant points of light all over the geodesic sphere. During the Festival of the Arts, there was a special Muppets-themed nighttime projection show, and now, the park’s icon has a NEW mini-show for the Flower & Garden Festival.
If you’re a Pocahontas fan and you think that the film is severely underrepresented in the theme parks, then you’ll be happy to know that throughout this festival, Spaceship Earth will have a short projection display each night that’s inspired by the movie! And during the display, “Colors of the Wind” will be playing — a truly iconic song.
In fact, we happened to catch a video of the show during our visit. Check it out!

We were staying at the Swan last week and I woke up at around 3:30am and I actually got to see them testing this. The window of our room was at a place were I saw Spaceship Earth from my bed. I watched for about an hour. It was lovely and I was only getting it from the side! I am glad to know what they were testing.
I was so disappointed when we visited the last weekend of F’Arts and they did NOT have the Rainbow Connection show. We adore that song and the Muppets. I guess they didn’t do it every evening, even on weekends. 🙁
Is this shown every night, and at what time? Thank you!
Hi Patricia! The show is every night (at least during Flower & Garden) and runs about every 15-20 minutes.
