What’s better than a day spent in a Disney park enjoying delicious food? Well, pretty much nothing!
Today we’re at the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival BEFORE its opening because a few booths are serving up festival dishes a little bit early. We’ve already visited the Golden Dreams Booth, but now it’s time to hit up Garlic Kissed…and the name already has us excited!
Menu
The first thing we’ve got to do with any food booth is check out the menu! Here at Garlic Kissed, they’re serving up two food items: a Grilled Top Sirloin and Carbonara-Garlic Mac & Cheese.
And they’re not skimping on the drinks either! They’ve got a special concoction called the Rosemary-Bitter Orange Mule, as well as a Cabernet Sauvignon.
Let’s dive in!
Food
After checking out that list, we’ve got to try some of it for ourselves! The Grilled Top Sirloin is first on our list. It’s served with Roasted Garlic-Gruyère Smashed Potatoes and Black Garlic Chimichurri. You can get one serving of this item for $8.25.
This dish is a winner in our books! The beef was super tender, and you get a pretty large portion. The potatoes are great too — they were very creamy and flavorful. You could definitely taste the garlic in them, but there wasn’t so much that it overpowered the other flavors. There are some peppers on top if you’re looking for an extra kick as well! The only part of this that we didn’t love was how quickly the dish gets oily because of that Chimichurri sauce.
The Carbonara-Garlic Mac and Cheese is back from the 2020 Food & Wine Festival, and it’s made with Nueske’s Peppered Bacon on top! You can get a serving of this for $8.
This year, the mac and cheese seemed a little spicier than we remember it. It looked like there might be a few red pepper flakes in it, which could explain the extra heat. There was also more bacon than usual, which we won’t complain about.
It’s a good portion for the price, and there’s definitely enough here to share if you’re just looking for a quick snack.
Drinks
The other thing we wanted to pick up was the Rosemary Bitter Orange Mule. This drink is made of a mix of Vodka, Aperol, orange juice, lime juice, rosemary syrup, and ginger beer, for $14.
This drink was pretty good! It definitely had hints of floral flavor in it, but they weren’t overpowering. The alcohol taste also wasn’t super strong, and we thought all the flavors were well balanced.
If you’d prefer a wine option instead, there’s a refreshing Cabernet Sauvignon. Grab a glass for $16.
Overall
This is a great booth to visit if you’re looking for a filling snack! Both the sirloin and mac & cheese dishes were flavorful and filling with large portion sizes. We think they could even work as a small lunch if you’re not too hungry! And that Orange Mule was a fun drink as well — it has a unique twist but isn’t too far off from the familiar cocktail. In general, we think this booth has some super delicious options!
