Welcome back to the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow! (That’s what EPCOT stands for, in case you didn’t know 😉.)
We’re bringing you all the latest updates from EPCOT, including brand new menu items at a popular restaurant and an update on the construction progress at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. There’s so much to see and do at this futuristic-meets-familiar Disney park, so let’s dive in!
EPCOT Food Updates
We stopped by one of EPCOT’s newest table service restaurants to check out some of the NEW menu offerings. While we were there, the manager came over to let us know that the new menu items were meant to represent fresh, springtime flavors. We tried the new Steak Salad…
…and these Roasted Carrots that instantly captured our hearts! Who knew veggies could taste so good? We didn’t expect to be so impressed with this side, and we would totally buy them again, even though they’re an extra $10 (in addition to the prix fixe cost of the meal).
We also tried the new Steak Frites, which COMPLETELY blew our minds. These are made with a coffee spice rub and served with a Chimichurri that was so flavorful!
There was also a new pasta option on the menu. The Spaceghetti & Shrimp (okay, Disney, we see you) is made with sauteed shrimp, spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, and a garlic beurre blanc.
And for our plant-based friends, the Quinoa Burger is a fresh, new addition to the menu as well.
The Coconut Panna Cotta ($14) is what dreams are made of. Each element of this dessert is amazing, but when you get a bite with all of them?! Chef’s kiss, man.
We tried the new Short Cake as well, made with matcha air cake, mascarpone mousse, and strawberries for $14.
Of course, we can’t forget the springtime cocktails! We tried the Stratosphere Strawberry Lemonade ($17)…
…the Orion Old Fashioned ($17)…
…and the Lunar Eclipse ($14), which is made table-side with Maker’s Mark-infused whipped cream and a double shot of espresso.
All the meals at Space 220 are prix fixe, but the desserts and alcoholic drinks will cost you extra! You’ll need reservations for lunch or dinner, and reservations are also recommended for the Lounge. But you can walk up to try to get on the list for the Lounge even without reservations — just be sure to get there early! Full meals are available if you’re eating at the Lounge too.
EPCOT Merchandise Updates
Calling all plant ladies! We spotted this adorable yellow planter that features flowers in the shape of a Mickey head for $14.99.
Stay hydrated during your Disney trip while taking a small step to be more eco-friendly with the Figment reusable cup and straw for $24.99…
…or the “Make it pink, make it blue” cup we found as a nod to Sleeping Beauty. You can get this one for $19.99.
There’s also a new Marvel earring set that will add a little superhero flair to any outfit! It’s available for $29.99.
Superheroes can wear earrings too, right?!
Port of Entry
There’s a new addition to the 50th Anniversary Vault Collection — the Disney World Pop Socket Wallet!
You can get it for $29.99.
The new Mickey Pretzel Minnie Ears have arrived in the Germany Pavilion! These snack-themed ears smell a little like a Mickey pretzel, but DON’T attempt to eat them. They probably don’t taste like a Mickey pretzel.
Get them for $39.99.
EPCOT Construction Updates
The walkway is now open over in World Celebration East, giving us an excellent and up-close view of the Connections Café sign and entrance!
We’re getting closer to being able to visit this new location, which is going to house a Starbucks as well! It’s scheduled to open in spring 2022.
The sign is up over at Treasures of Xandar in the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion. This is the gift shop that will accompany EPCOT’s newest thrill ride.
Guests can expect to find specially curated items selected by The Broker himself along with familiar Terran treasures as well.
There you have it — all the updates we have from EPCOT for now. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney parks news and more!
