If you’re a Star Wars fan, the Disney Parks have a lot to offer!
In both Disneyland and Disney World, Galaxy’s Edge can transport you to Batuu where you can build a droid, join the resistance, or have a cocktail over at Oga’s Cantina. It’s no surprise that Star Wars fans are passionate about a galaxy far, far away, leading to some cool fan events that happen in the parks! And, the other day, we spotted a pretty awesome gathering of fans over at Disneyland Resort.
Check out ALL of these lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park! The group of fans met out in front of the TIE Echelon on the night of Friday, December 2nd to raise all of their lightsabers up in the air. It’s like holiday lights, but make it Star Wars. 😂
These meetups happen a few times a year in both Disneyland and Disney World, and are put together by a fan group called Galaxy’s Edge Discord, who organizes them through social media. This is also the group that plans the fan events for Star Wars‘ Life Day celebrations.
Fans typically meet up in Galaxy’s Edge to pose for pictures, hang out, and occasionally duel each other! In past events, they will march around the land with their lightsabers, but Friday’s rainy weather kept this most recent meetup pretty short. It’s a great way for Star Wars fans to get together for some bonding!
If you’re interested in a Star Wars meetup over in Walt Disney World, the group is holding a holiday meet up in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios on December 10th! They said to bring out your tacky holiday sweaters to take pictures out in front of the AT-AT and Christmas tree in the park!
