BIG changes are coming to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom soon!
With the TRON: Lightcycle / Run opening date quickly approaching, Cast Members are making sure Tomorrowland is in tip-top shape before guests flock to check out the new attraction this April.
We were at Magic Kingdom and saw a maintenance person on the roof of Space Mountain!

There was only one person up there at first, but we kept watching out of curiosity — and eventually, even more workers showed up! The ride remains open with wait times between 25 and 30 minutes, so we knew this was probably routine upkeep and nothing concerning.
Whatcha doin’ up there?
We asked the lovely Cast Members if this was routine maintenance or an effort to make sure everything looks shiny and new for TRON’s opening date. A Cast Member told us that, although you can occasionally find custodial and maintenance people atop Space Mountain, they were likely clearing away dust and dirt from the nearby TRON construction.

Very interesting and cool. It is great to see how technology will enhance technology when you see what needs to be done to service this iconic structure. It is like the Contemporary Tower, known world wide as cutting edge technology move us forward. Space Mountain and Spaceship Earth have also attained this world wide acclaim. I love seeing the workers on the roof. It gives you a sense of scale.
