A popular store in Disney Springs quietly closed and we are left with questions.

Disney Springs
Disney Springs is a shopping, dining, and entertainment haven in Walt Disney World. You can find tons of great restaurants here, along with a LOT of places to shop. There are some Disney gift shops, but mostly you’ll find non-Disney brands like Kate Spade, lululemon, Uniqlo, etc. Now, one of those stores has CLOSED and we’re wondering what might replace it!
Disney Springs is a thriving, lively shopping district that attracts visitors from near and far. It’s also home to some of our favorite dining locations like Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, Wine Bar George, and The Boathouse. It’s often crowded in the late evenings and weekends and is a staple shopping destination for Disney World visitors.

Disney Springs
On a recent visit to Disney Springs, we happened to notice that the UGG store has quietly closed its doors.

UGG at Disney Springs
A sign on the door reads, “Please pardon our appearance. Something new is coming.” We now have all the questions — what could be arriving to fill this space?

Disney Springs’ version of “pardon our pixie dust”
From the wording of the sign, it does appear that Disney Springs has plans to fill the former UGG store and could be actively working on something. However, when we checked with Guest Relations they didn’t know what would be replacing the now-closed storefront.

Anyone there??
It will be interesting to keep tabs on this spot as we check back for progress on what will fill this space As always, stay tuned with us here at DFB for the latest in Disney news.

A Disney World hotel special offering is changing soon!
Disney Springs has fulfilled its intentions. It is now as crowded and in some cases more crowded than the parks. It is not the fun place it used to be. All it is now is overcrowded and over priced. The only good thing is the free parking.
I’ve spent a fair amount of time at Disney Springs, but “UGG” doesn’t mean anything to me. Should it?! What was it?
Hi Richard. UGG is a shoe/clothing brand that was founded by a surfer from Australia and is most widely known for its sheepskin boots.
Two issues; as Ken mentioned above, DS has become too crowded.
But to further the store leaving a bit; I don’t think many people actually go to Springs to “shop”. They go there as a park off day and have some food. It has become the “free” off day for families because they cannot afford as many days in the parks with the WDW higher ticket prices.
But with that DS visitor mentality, the insanely high cost of rent for a business to be there makes it not-profitable. Now, the ol’ WDW adage is; “well your company gets “exposure” and high foot traffic.” Problem is, that is only worth so much in todays climate.
I foresee Disney Springs being more restaurants and quick bites. More dessert shops and goodies. And then a bunch of Disney owned and operated stores, selling their own merchandise.
Oh no! One of the few shops I actually bought something in, too!
No loss. I like the fun disney themed stores. Not these high price items that I could go to an outlet if I wanted it. Those are not vacation stores.
I been going so long to this area that it went from Disney Village, to pleasure island/downtown Disney district and now springs. I’m probably forgetting a name change. I’m not à night owl so I go during the day and I never have problems parking or shopping. The fact that Uggs does not exist anymore doesn’t impact me because for 400-600$ for sheepskin boots I want the sheep it came from 🙄. I shop here all the time and have a good time. There is something for everyone and this area was ALWAYS busy but with with the indoor parking it’s easier to park and get where you want to go. My tip is always park on the 4th floor as there are always spots and you get back to your car and it’s not an over. Naturally all bets are off at night but I’ve heard they have valet parking so do what’s right for you. I love sprinkles, the boathouse and lots of other great stores including a kiosk for lefties and pet things. So go, have a good time and keep in mind that evening is the busiest time and adjust your expectations accordingly 😊
