In 2024, we got BIG news for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on future projects and we are so excited about what is to come.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In case you missed it, they are adding a BRAND NEW THEMED LAND featuring our favorite monsters from MONSTERS, INC.! Disney recently revealed the location for the new area, and we’re going to have to say goodbye to the Muppets Courtyard. But don’t worry, they are just moving them to a Muppets-themed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. While we don’t know the exact details of the new Monsters, Inc. Land, from Disney’s concept art, we can make some guesses. Get ready because we’re doing a deep dive into the art to gain some insight into potential new Disney restaurants coming.
Disney shared the latest concept art of this land at the end of 2024. This is where Muppets Courtyard currently is and if you need help orienting yourself, to the right of the art you can see Galaxy’s Edge. But, let’s take a closer look to see what dining options we might see coming.

A few buildings really stand out to us…

First thing we noticed is the HarryHausen’s building. We immediately noticed the iconic eyeball sculpture that is in front of Harryhausen’s in the Monsters, Inc. movie. This is the restaurant that Mike Wazowski takes Celia Mae out on a date for her birthday.

Harryhausen’s is a Japanese restaurant that is notoriously hard to get a reservation to. In the movie, you can see monsters chowing down on eyeballs and sushi. It will be taking over where Mama Melrose’s currently is, so it will likely be a table service restaurant. We’re hoping for a sushi conveyor belt! We would love to see something like this outside of EPCOT in another Disney theme park.

Could this mean we are getting a sushi restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We feel pretty confident about this one because it was in all 3 of Disney’s concept art of this land. We are eager to hear more details on the menu and specifics of this restaurant!

Next up, PizzeRizzo will be re-themed. While we’re not sure to what, we believe Disney will keep this as a quick service restaurant. We can only hope that this will become a fan favorite as PizzeRizzo is not. We’d love to see uniquely themed “monsters food” served here. We’re going to hope for Satu’li Canteen style vibes here as far as delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Finally, we have noticed this covered structure in between Harry Hausen’s and where PizzeRizzo currently is. We might see a grab and go style food kiosk, similar to Anaheim Produce. This would be a great place to put quick snacks and maybe even some fun beverages to enjoy while walking around the land. Or, this could be coverage for some sort of ride queue as well. Only time will tell!

We are excited for Disney to share more about what foods we can enjoy in this land in the future. We will keep our eyes out for more clues until then. Be sure to follow us at DFB for all of the Disney World news coming!

Thanks for the article but it was merely speculation. I imagine that there will be retail between Harry Hausen and Pizza Rizzo. I think the Pizza Rizzo location will continue to be a haven for picky eaters. My family likes the wedding reception room on the second floor. Mama Melrose has received poor reviews for some time like Tonys Town Square.
This is kind of off subject but I have wondered what effect closing Mama Melrose will have on the Fantasmic dinner package. That doesn’t leave as many options as it is already difficult to make a reservation. Just curious.
I’m super excited for all of this in this land! Thank you for reporting.
