We hope you’re wearing your eating pants!
If you’ve been following along, you know we’ve been eating and drinking our way through ALL 20 BOOTHS at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival today. Well, we’re on to another as we cruise on into the Morocco Pavilion!
Taste of Marrakesh is a booth that offers some very unique eats. Typically, Morocco Pavilion booths wow us with some unexpected and adventurous flavors.
Will it be the same this year? Let’s take a look!
Menu
This booth offers three food items and three drink items. We definitely spot some interesting Moroccan-inspired dishes and we’re very excited to give them a try.
Wow, those menu pictures have us wondering how tasty these eats could be! Without further ado, let’s get tasting.
Food
ALL THREE of the food items at Taste of Marrakesh are new this year and we are READY to see how they hold up to the other fest eats. First up, we have the Moroccan Seafood Couscous with Shrimp, Mussels, Olives, Preserved Lemons, and Anchovy Breadcrumbs for $7.25.
This serving was seriously HUGE and the seafood was flawlessly prepared. On top of that, the couscous was fabulous and it had awesome flavor. Seafood fans, take note!
Next, we’re switching gears to the Shakshuka for $5.50. This dish is made with Moroccan Baked Eggs in a Spiced Eggplant and Tomato Stew.
This dish was SO yummy (even if ours was a little on the cold side!). You can actually taste the olive oil and the oozy egg was incredible. This was definitely our favorite item here! We just wish there was a bit more pita…but hey, a spoon works too.
And for dessert? Take a look at the Lemon Magdalena Cake with Fig Compote and Sangria Gel for $4.75! This pretty eat is actually plant-based and qualifies for the Garden Graze.
This dessert was VERY dense but we loved the way the fig paired with the lemon. It’s a very good dessert if you’re into lemon and not into super sugary options.
We hope you’re not feeling too full yet, we still gotta try the drinks!
Drinks
Two of the offerings at this booth are new this year in addition to the returning Sangria for $5. We were not wowed by this option. It was so so so sweet that it almost tasted like it came from a box. There are much better drink options elsewhere!
For beer drinkers, there’s the M.I.A. Beer Company Pink Hibiscus Orange Wheat Ale from Doral, Florida for $4.50 for a 6oz and $8.50 for a 12oz. This beer was not as sweet as we expected but still good! It’s not very unique, so if you’re looking for a more classic ale this could be a good option.
If you’re more of a cider fan, you can snag the Maeloc Pineapple and Pear Hard Cider from Galicia, Spain for $4.50 for a 6oz and $8.50 for a 12oz. This was very sweet so would be good for someone who likes fruity wine options. We think it’s a great choice for warmer days!
It’s nice that this booth has options for wine drinkers, beer drinkers, and cider drinkers; BUT we’ve found more unique and tasty options at some of the other booths around the fest. You can even get better sangria elsewhere in the Morocco Pavilion!
Overall
It’s exciting when almost the WHOLE menu is new at a festival booth and Taste of Marrakesh definitely stood up as a good option at the festival. The food especially had us wowed at some unexpected flavors. Honestly, that Shakshuka is all we can really think about now. Perhaps it’ll make our best of the fest list… . You’ll have to wait and see!
Stay tuned as we keep exploring EPCOT’s springtime fest!
