We headed to the Disneyland Resort area to see what’s open under the new California mandate and check out the open gift shops. Here’s everything we found while exploring the area.
Although most of Disneyland Resort remains closed, there are some parts of the resort that have reopened.
Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney reopened this past summer, and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure recently reopened with limited shopping and dining.
The ho-ho-holidays have arrived at Disneyland Resort! Though the theme parks remain closed, so there’s no Haunted Mansion Holiday or Christmas parade, Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure is open for select shopping and dining!

Buena Vista Street has been open as an extension of Downtown Disney for a few weeks now and we’re still enjoying our time back in the theme park — even if there aren’t any rides. Today, another store reopened and we’re stepping inside!

We’ve seen a few fantastic holiday popcorn buckets in Disney World, and an awesome, retro one in Disneyland too. But, now it’s time to add one more popcorn bucket to your collection, and this one is ready to add a little spookiness to your holiday celebrations!

World of Color at Disney California Adventure
With the parks closed due to COVID-19 since March, it doesn’t look like a reopening will be coming anytime soon, due to government regulations. Even though the parks can’t fully reopen, Disneyland Resort has been able to open for shopping and dining in Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. Now, Disney is sharing an update on theme park ticket expiration dates.
2020 has brought a LOT of twists and turns, and we’re still very much in the midst of grappling with them. This year and next were supposed to be exciting ones in terms of opening attractions.

There are still projects to be excited about, of course, but Disney has left us wondering when and if some of them will ever be completed. Luckily, there are a few BIG Disney attractions that we can still expect to open in 2021 — here are the upcoming projects scheduled for completion next year!

It’s been pretty slow-moving, but hey, we’ll take what we can get. We’ve been hanging out at Downtown Disney to check out their holiday decorations, snacks, and more. It looks like its hours are going to be extended a tiny bit as seen on Disney’s website!
With Buena Vista Street now open, we’ve got LOTS more shopping and dining to do all throughout Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort!
