Just last week some new Disney Princess cookies were introduced at the Disneyland Resort. I spotted them at Marceline’s in Downtown Disney. Not only did I conduct a little princess photo shoot on the spot, but I also took Ariel home with me for a taste test!
The generously sized cookies are all “Honey Vanilla” in flavor. They’re available in 4 different designs and will set you back just under $5.00.
I thought that the Snow White cookies were very well done. The eyes and hair were true to character & her face looked so sweet (literally and figuratively).
Cinderella was a little scary looking to me. Her hair looked great, but I think her face was a little off. It almost seems out of proportion with the hair. Not judging though, because there is NO way I could’ve done a better job!
Belle looks adorable, but her nose is kind of funky. I definitely think she wins the “best lips” category though!
And, saving the best for last, I think the Ariel cookie looks amazing. Everything about her is perfect; her hair, her eyes, her mouth. LOVE IT. But, yes, Ariel is my favorite, so I AM biased…
Usually, I don’t buy this type of cookie. I’m partial to Selma’s cookies that are sold in the bakery cases!
However, I figured I’d better check these out, so I took Ariel home with me to see if she tasted as good as she looked. Ummm, that sounds weird, sorry. I carefully took off her plastic wrap because I didn’t want to chip off her frosting before I got a nice “unwrapped” photo.
To my surprise, the frosting was multilayered and thick, so it did not easily crack.
After getting my pretty picture, I asked my boys if they wanted to try this out with me. Immediately they both started arguing about who got to eat her face! Bizarre, I know. Maybe it’s just a “boy” way of protesting a princess.
Anyhow, I broke the cookie into a few pieces and they each got an eye. We tried the cookie and all three of us agreed it was pretty tasty.
The cookie was much softer than I had expected. In fact, the frosting was harder than the cookie. I didn’t notice the “honey” flavor that the cookie claims to have — much more dominant on the vanilla flavor side. Not the best thing I’ve ever tried, but much more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be.
Overall, I doubt I’d buy one of these cookies again. They are adorable and would make a great souvenir/gift for the princess lover in your life; but if you are looking for a tasty treat, there are so many more options at the Disneyland Resort. I do give them an A+ for cuteness!
Reading the nutrition label on the back I noticed that the cookies are distributed from Orlando. My guess is that this means they are popping up in Walt Disney World too!
Have you spotted or tried these lovely ladies yet? Which Disney Princess would you like to make your own?
