Disney shares that the brand-new hotel, which will be located on Disney World’s Bay Lake, will “celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers.”
“Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.”
Let’s explore everything we know about Lakeshore Lodge so far…
Lakeshore Lodge — The Theme
Upon arrival at the Resort, guests will see a one-mile tree-lined vista before seeing the Lodge itself. Disney shares that this kind of “grand expression” will be carried out through the porte-cochere, as well as the lobby.
The lobby will feature a fiberoptic river illuminating the floor and a blown-glass Colors of the Wind sculpture made with hundreds of suspended glass leaves that “fill the space with movement, color, and wonder.”
Floor‑to‑ceiling windows and skylights will fill the space with natural light while presenting views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area, “allowing the local flora and fauna to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.”
The lobby will also be decorated with custom tapestries inspired by the land in Pocahontas , as well as furniture made with accents of river-recovered cypress wood. In fact, the entire space will incorporate natural materials.
Lakeshore Lodge — Dining
Moonglade
Moonglade will provide a table-service dining option for guests at Lakeshore Lodge. Disney shares that Moonglade will serve “thoughtfully prepared dishes featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.”
Floor-to-ceiling windows will allow guests to enjoy the lovely views of this nature-focused hotel as they dine.
Bay Lake Provisions
Bay Lake Provisions will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a Quick Service marketplace featuring an open-kitchen atmosphere.
Specialty coffees will be on offer along with “fresh fare,” according to Disney. And Disney hints that guests should “keep an eye out for woodland critters inspired by beloved Disney classics.”
Paint Out Point Bar & Grill
Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will be located by next Lakeshore Lagoon, the a zero-entry pool for guests of all ages that will serve as the heart of The Wetlands water recreation area!
Shareable bites and specialty beverages will be up for grabs as guests are “soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds The Wetlands.”
Lakeshore Lodge — Terrace and Fireworks Views
Dandelion Terrace (which will be softly lit with dandelion light fixtures) will showcase a two-story gallery of archival artwork from Disney films such as Fantasia.
The sweeping views create the perfect setting to slow down and enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks!
Lakeshore Lodge — Amenities
Outdoor Recreation and Water Features
Lakeshore Lodge’s The Wetlands will be a place where guests can find both fun and relaxation amidst spectacular water features! The lazy Daydream River is where ALL guests can sit back, relax, and float on an innertube while the river carries them through The Wetlands.
Lakeshore Lagoon — a zero-entry pool for guests of all ages — is the heart of The Wetlands, and will feature a spiral waterslide.
One section of The Wetlands will be dedicated to children, a place where they can “become part of nature’s story through whimsical wet and dry play areas inspired by the music and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Pocahontas.” The play area is specifically inspired by the lyrics, “the heron and the otter are my friends” from the film’s beloved song, Colors of the Wind.
Heron Shores will also bring exploration and hands-on play to kids with climbing features, while Otter Springs will come to life with interactive water fun. In fact, Disney has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the installation of Addie and Bonnie, the giant otters of Otter Springs!
A scenic path will run through the recreation area that will uncover facts about the plants and flowers surrounding them.
And a leisure pool called Cypress Point will be located on the opposite side of Lakeshore Lodge, complete with a whirlpool spa and a view of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks at night!

Lakeshore Lodge — Location
In 2019, Disney originally announced Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge Resort. Reflections had an expected opening date of 2022; however, construction was halted following the 2020 global health crisis. It was set to occupy the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge is being built in that same location. It will be considered a Magic Kingdom Area Resort.
The photo above comes from @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter, and you can see the positioning of Lakeshore Lodge in relation to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (on the left), Disney’s Contemporary Resort (on the right), and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (at the top of the picture).
