Atmosphere
You can get the Mardi Gras party started the minute you step into the lobby!
From here you can explore Jackson Square.
Tributes to the home of jazz can be spotted everywhere you look.
Much of the decor is inspired by the larger-than-life floats that are the signature of a Mardi Gras parade.
It’s all nestled along the charming and picturesque Sassagoula River.
From here, guests have easy access to Port Orleans — Riverside as well as boat transportation to Disney Springs.
Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter Dining
The specialty of the house? It’s BEIGNETS!
But you’ll find much more than this signature snack with the dining options at Port Orleans — French Quarter…

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is open for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Scat Cat’s Club — Cafe is dedicated to serving up a unique-to-the-Resort favorite: Beignets!
Scat Cat’s Club — Cafe is open from early morning (Beignets for BEAKFAST!) to late at night.
Bars and Lounges
Scat Cat’s Club — Lounge serves up drinks, food, and a good time! On select evenings, guests can listen to live jazz musicians while sipping on specialty cocktails.
Though hours may vary, Scat Cat’s Club — Lounge is typically open at 5PM in the evening through midnight. Live music starts at 7:30PM on Fridays through Sundays.
Welcome to Mardi Grogs Pool Bar— where the name says it all! Enjoy drinks by Doubloon Lagoon, the Mardi Gras-themed pool.
Though hours may vary, Mardi Grogs is typically open at 11AM and through the evenings.
Additional Options
While French Quarter does not have a Table Service restaurant, guests can stroll or take the boat over to Port Orleans — Riverside (French Quarter’s sister Resort) to visit Boatwright’s Dining Hall.
Additionally, boat transportation along the Sassagoula River gives Port Orleans guests easy access to ALL of the dining options in Disney Springs!
Shopping
Of course, you’ll want to grab a souvenir (or ten 😉 ) to remember your Walt Disney World trip, so stop by Jackson Square Gifts & Desires.
You’ll find popular items from around Disney World and even some Resort-specific pieces to remember your stay at Port Orleans…
… like these Beignet Ears, perhaps 🙂 ?
Guest Rooms
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter features standard guest rooms with 2 Queen Beds that can accommodate up to four adult guests. Guests may also opt for a standard guest room with 1 King Bed that can accommodate up to two adult guests. For standard rooms, guests may choose a Standard View, a Garden View, a River View, or a Pool View.
We’re sharing pictures below from a Standard View Room at Port Orleans French Quarter with 2 Queen-Size beds.
Our first floor standard view presents a courtyard scene.
Just inside the door is a small table with two chairs (complete with a not-so-hidden Mickey made of Mardi Gras beads)!
The television and dresser are placed beside a shelf with hooks and a bench.
The dresser features three drawers for storage, along with a mini-fridge.
You’ll find the coffee maker and an ice bucket on top as well.
The two queen beds offer a shared nightstand in between.
The nightstand is where you’ll find outlets, USB ports, a telephone, and even more storage for your stay.
Heading to the bathroom, you’ll notice that there isn’t technically a door to the sink area of the bathroom (which is fairly common in Disney Resort rooms).
However, there IS a door to the shower and toilet area. Having the two separate areas is very convenient when multiple people are getting ready at once, as is the double vanity.
And underneath the vanity is plenty of storage space for your items, plus more towels.
The shower and tub combo is simple, but offers a small shelf for toiletries.
You’ll find provided bath products, as well.
On the opposite side of the shower is the room’s closet, which features an iron and ironing board, hangers, waste bins, and an extra pillow and blanket.
There are even more room details to take in, and we’ve shared them all here.

Get ready to make a SPLASH at Doubloon Lagoon!
The star of this super fun pool area is Scales, the 51-foot-long winding sea serpent slide, watched over by none other than King Neptune! The area also offers a water play zone and a whirlpool spa.

Additional recreation options include Bike and Surrey Bike rentals, fishing excursions, and a jogging trail which leads guests down the mile-long path that winds down the Sassagoula River.
Kiddos can enjoy the playground, while all ages can play in the South Quarter Games Arcade.
The Front Desk will provide you with information about current Resort Activities which may include options like Movies Under the Stars, Evening Campfires, Pool Parties, and additional activities (with some available for a nominal fee) such as Arts and Crafts that you can take home. You will also see signs alerting to the day’s and week’s activities around the Resort so you don’t miss any of the fun!
