1923 is a celebration of the Walt Disney Company, animation, and its Californian heritage. In fact, this Disney Cruise Line (DCL) restaurant was named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded.
There are two dining rooms, including the Walt Disney room and the Roy Disney room, which reflect classic Hollywood glamour AND Disney whimsy.
The restaurant is part of the rotational dining experience, so you’ll likely dine here for at least one night of your cruise. Disney Cruise Line is known for rotational dining across all of its ships. Each night, your server team will accompany you as you rotate to three dining rooms on board the ship.
With California-inspired food, dishes blend Asian, European, and South American flavors.

Nosh or Not
You definitely don’t want to miss this experience if…
- You are looking for a timeless, elegant atmosphere. From the decorations to the warm lighting, this restaurant is cozy and intimate yet classy and refined. This isn’t a Rainforest Cafe-style Disney restaurant, making it a great place for adults.
- You want a SHOW-STOPPING dessert. We’re still thinking about our Chocolate Lava Cake. While the other desserts were mostly simple and basic, that Lava Cake was powerful enough to boost our overall rating of this restaurant. YUM!
If you’re going to skip 1923 on your cruise, it might be because…
- You’re not in the mood for a long meal. We get it — there’s a lot to see and do on vacation! Not everyone wants to take the time for a longer sit-down meal, and that’s okay.
- You’re dining with little ones. Sure, there’s a kid’s menu with plenty of safe choices for picky eaters, but if you have little ones with a short attention span and a particular palate, you might be better off at a quick-service spot.
Important Information
- The venue has two separate, identically styled dining rooms named after the founders—The Walt Disney side (right) and The Roy Disney side (left). Check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to see which side matches your table assignment.
- If you dine at one of the main rotational restaurants for breakfast or lunch, there is no need to make a reservation.
- Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App each day to verify which sit-down restaurants are offering breakfast and lunch, and what the dining hours are, as these can change and rotate daily.
