With the newly opened Jolly Holiday Bakery & Cafe in full effect there are tons of yummy options that are on my “must try” list. The first one was this scrumptious Lemon Meringue Bar, which I specifically went back for on my second trip to Jolly Holiday.

Jolly Holiday Bakery & Cafe
Let me start by saying that I consider myself a lemon bar connoisseur. I love them… like really, really love them. So, I was hoping that this tart treat would meet my expectations, because artificial-tasting lemon in a lemon bar is awful.
The topping is also important to me; usually I like a “crumby” type topping on them and maybe a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Lemon Meringue Bar
I am happy to report, however, that the Lemon Meringue Bar is a great twist on the standard lemon bar. The meringue topping was smooth and not too sticky, it was the perfect sized dollop to go along with the bar.
The lemon was tart and tasted natural, while the crust on the bottom was buttery and didn’t crumble with each bite which was nice. I cut it right in half to share and it worked out perfectly!

Lemon Meringue Bar Cross Section
Overall, I highly recommend the Lemon Meringue Bar if you are looking for a tasty treat while visiting Main Street USA. At $3.99 it’s not exactly cheap, but the deliciousness makes up for the price.

Now… to go back for that Chocolate Cream Cheese Bar!
What treat are you most looking forward to at Jolly Holiday Bakery? Have you tried it yet?

O..M..G!
I love all things lemon…the lemon tart at EPCOT from France’s patisserie is my favorite thing EVER…so I will definitely be trying this on my trip to DL next week.
There are entirely TOO many things I want to eat there and not enough time!

Heather…would you like to come meet me so we can split everything? LOL
I love..love just about anything with lemon. So I’m hopping that WDW will get something like that. If they do already point me in that direction. YUMMY
Do they do AP discounts here? That would be great!
Elizabeth — Me, too! Lemon is my favorite!
Jenny — I’ll have to do a post about all of my favorite lemon desserts! But let me tell you up front…there aren’t enough!
M.T — That’s a good one for Heather to answer; I’m not 100% sure.
@Elizabeth – You’d have to fight my boys for a spot at sharing!
@Jenny – Me too!!! I love lemon treats!
@MT – YEP! I’ve used my AP for a discount each time I’ve gone!
@AJ – Lemon Treat Crawl???
When I first read this title, which I saw on twitter (no picture), my first thought was a lemon meringue BAR, like, “pull up a pub stool! try out the meringue!”
I loved it. It was the first thing I wanted to try when I walked in the bakery. I thought it was like eating Lemon Meringue Pie, but with the perfect amount of meringue. (Usually pie has more meringue then lemon & this bar was perfectly balanced).
Next on the list is the Mickey face chocolate tart.
@Michael – HAHA! Love it! Sorry we tricked you! ; )
@Janet – You must go back for the Mickey tart!
