We all know that those lines for Fantasmic! are long and the table-service seating for Fantasmic! meals is limited. Mickey’s solution for the busy holiday season debuted in 2011 “A Taste of Hollywood To Go – A Fantasmic! Dining Experience”.
Returning this year to help feed the holiday crowds, a picnic-style, quick-service dining option will be offered to guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios from December 22, 2012 – January 5, 2013 and March 24-April 4, 2013. Guests can make reservations up to 24 hours prior by calling 407-WDW-DINE (a credit card guarantee is required).
The picnic meals include a 20oz drink ($15.99 adults, $5.49 for kids) as well as reserved seating for Fantasmic! similar to the standard Fantasmic dining packages. Each entree can be purchased with one counter-service Disney Dining Plan credit.
Seating in the reserved section of the stadium will still be first come, first served.
Meal Pick Up will take place at Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 1.5 hours prior to the show time that you preselect. Get your meal when it best fits into your touring schedule!
Fantasmic seats will be based on the number of guests in your party, and entrees ordered must be equal to or greater than your party size.
Here are a few pics of what the picnic meals may look like!…
Cold Fried chicken with roasted sweet potato and baby spinach, broccoli slaw, and blueberry cheesecake.
Veggie Sandwich with tabbouleh, tomato salad, and chocolate cake. A similar meal was offered in 2011.
Other choices include:
Tuna sushi roll with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers, and a spicy pecan chocolate cluster.
Cold-cut roast beef with creamy horseradish, potato salad, grilled asparagus, and chocolate cake. Last year’s offering was a Teriyaki and Orange Marinated beef.
Cajun shrimp salad with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers, and mandarin orange cheesecake.
Kids’ meal with turkey and American cheese wrap and strawberry yogurt, apples and carrots with ranch dip and seven-layer cookie bar. The meal in 2011 was similar.
Kids’ Meal Power Pack includes Strawberry Yogurt, Apple Wedges, Carrots Sticks, Goldfish Crackers, and Organic Apple Cinnamon and Oatmeal Snack Size Sandwich Bar – $5.49

This post just reminds me how far WDW has come in the last twenty-five years when it comes to feeding it’s visitors. Options like this didn’t exist back then. There were TS and CS restaurants and basically nothing more than a Deli type store at the Marketplace. Food service has definitely caught up with rides, amusements, shows and parades.

Only people with the Disney Dining Plan can purchase the picnic package?
Kim says
Isabella – it’s also available for guests without the dining plan. Prices are $15.99 adults and $5.49 for kids when paying out-of-pocket. 🙂

What an awesome item to be offered for Fantasmic! I only wish the could be available year-round. The veggie option looks delicious! It would be awesome to pick these up and have a picnic in the park before or during the show. I love the fact that they are a quick service meal option.

Thanks for your reply, Kim! But even without the Dining Plan I may still be able to get the reserved seats? I just dont know how to make the reservations through Disney’s site, since the picnic option doesnt show. Is that because you can only book one day prior? I am so excited I am returning to Disney 19 years after my first trip that i am booking everything i can now, cause i dont wanna miss the chance!
Kim says
Isabella – the picnic option is only available by calling. You need to give at least 24 hours advance notice. Don’t wait – book it now! And yes, you’ll get reserved seating whether you pay out-of-pocket or with the Disney Dining Plan. I hope your return to WDW after 19 years is incredibly magical!!
