It was just an ordinary day in the Magic Kingdom until we neared the Haunted Mansion and could smell bacon. We followed our noses to Liberty Square Market and made a discovery!
Guess what we found! Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers!
Before we knew it, we were in line clutching our cash and ready to get our very own Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers!
Take a look at these skewers. Right away we were enthralled with the smell, as were many people around us. We’re telling you – these smell so good!
In an amazing act of self-control we tried the Chicken before the Bacon.
The sauce on these Chicken Skewers is awesome. It’s described as a spicy sweet sauce, and we have to agree it has a really nice kick to it.
Next up, the Candied Bacon Skewer.
We gotta say the Candied Bacon is also good, but the texture is a little different from candied bacon we’ve tried before. Usually the outside is harder and crispier, this one is not crispy all. But it still has that nice salty, sweetness to it that we expected.
So, the big question – which did we prefer? We’d have to say we liked the Chicken Skewer better than the Candied Bacon Skewer. It’s not that we didn’t like the Bacon, we just missed that crispy texture we associate with Candied Bacon.
Have you tried either of these skewers? Let us know your thoughts and which you preferred in the comments!

Did you happen to inquire about allergies? Would be so happy if these were gluten free. Reminds me a lot of Bengal BBQ in DL but the sauces aren’t GF there.
Steve and Nicole says
Do they accept DDP snack credits?
Hannah says
I was so excited and ready to try the bacon but, Not Crispy??? Not Bacon…IMO. Thanks for the heads up.
Erin says
So is the bacon more like the texture of smoked bacon? Like jerky?
heather_kg says
That looks like a slab of pork belly more than a piece of bacon – which might explain why it wasn’t crispy.
Claire says
????. So much bacon!! My daughter won’t care if it’s crisp or not. Thanks for the heads up ??
Julia says
Are these two items “snack” credits on the DDP?
DFB Sarah says
Erin, it’s softer — more like pork belly than jerky, if that makes sense.
DFB Sarah says
Steve and Nicole, the sign doesn’t designate it as such, but that may change.
DFB Sarah says
Cass: We didn’t ask. We blame the bacon. (Sorry!)
Bernadine says
Looks more like a $4.99 snack that should be on the DDP to me.
Tabatha says
I think my comment didn’t go through, I was wondering if the chicken is anything like the ones at bengal bbq in Disneyland?
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Tabatha! Honestly, we’re not sure. Both are tasty, but it’s a hard comparison!
Steph says
7.99 bacon in the morning turns into 9.99 bacon AND a bag of chips in the afternoon. Tricky, they are. November 2019

Does any one have a recipe to recreate the bacon on a stick? Just bought some pork belly from costco in an effort to recreate what I tasted in Disney.
