Disney Parks Blog just announced that the Shop Disney Parks app used by many to purchase Parks-specific merchandise will be retired on May 31. This news comes as Disney declares ShopDisney is “the one-stop, online retail destination for Disney merchandise”.

ShopDisney and its companion app (also called ShopDisney) will continue to offer Parks merchandise, as they have for some time. The elimination of the separate Shop Disney Parks app is not expected to change the shopping experience on either ShopDisney platform.

To navigate to Parks-specific gear online, look for the ‘Parks’ label along the top of the ShopDisney website. In the ShopDisney app, click ‘Shop’ and ‘Disney Parks’.

On the app it applied the AP discount like in the park. The website wouldn’t allow it. Will this be updated?
yeah someone really dropped the ball on the management of that app, use to be a great thing, then it went downhill, with most everything being blocked and terrible service.

I agree this is horrible news if unable to use AP discount. So many times Pandora and Alex and Ani are excluded from the percentage discounts on ShopDisney but never on ShopParks. Especially when mark up is already so high. The Disney cat/dog leggings went from $33 in January to $40 in May. A 20% increase!!
They need to sell MORE merch on Shop Disney Parks and not retire it. Too many items are sold only in the parks, and re-sellers buy it up before collectors can.
Do you know if the ‘find on map’ piece will be carried over? I know it was always nice to see what stores carried the item I was looking for at the parks.

I hate the new shop Disney site, merchandise listed on the old Shop Parks does not show on search in the new shop Disney Site. Will not be buying anything from the new site!
So basically WDW can still buy stuff on their app, but Disneylanders are once again screwed. Like why cant we buy park merch in our DL app too?!

Susan, sadly I’ve heard that from several readers. Hopefully they’ll rectify it!
No more AP discount, no more find on map function. Certain items not listed on the regular Shop Disney app. Even though they were only available in the park, the Shop Parks app would tell you where to find them in the park using the Find on Map option.
