Review! We’re Snacking on the NEW Specialty Skewer at Disneyland’s Bengal Barbecue

Who’s up for a visit to The Bengal Barbecue?!

We’ve been eating our way around Disneyland’s Adventureland today, checking out some new (and updated) snacks at The Tropical Hideaway. But the Hideaway isn’t the only place with some additional goodies these days. And old favorite, The Bengal Barbecue is currently putting the spotlight on a new Specialty Skewer!

Joining the other Jungle Skewers on the menu (such as the Banyan Beef, Outback Vegetable, Pork Belly Skewers and more), the Specialty Skewer serves up shrimp, spiced ham, and pineapple with a Piña Colada dressing.

Though we anticipated that some sweetness might come through from the piña colada sauce, the flavor emphasis stayed on the savory side.

In fact, we didn’t pick up much flavor from the dressing at all. We did, however, pick up on the terrific taste of the shrimp, ham, and pineapple (don’t you just love grilled pineapple?), with the seasoned ham being especially delicious!

Though the Specialty Skewer ($6.49) is seasonal, the Cast Member we spoke with informed us that it should be around for at least a couple of months. And that’s good news because this is a great addition to an already solid selection. (Because don’t forget, there’s a BACON-WRAPPED Skewer here, too!)

The only trouble, in fact, is that this new option makes your tasty Skewer decisions that much more difficult at The Bengal Barbecue. So it’s highly recommended that you grab a friend, say “Hi!” to the Tiger, and try a few!
