Nowadays, we’ve grown accustomed to things changing at Disney World. In addition to TONS of additions and new construction, this frequently means nostalgic items (and clown slides…) are removed!

At Magic Kingdom, the epicenter of Disney World nostalgia, we noticed some longtime fixtures have been removed from Main Street, U.S.A.!
Call us old fashioned, but we’ll ALWAYS have a soft spot for mailing letters and sending postcards! Remember letters? Like email, but paper!
Letters for Santa
This is why we’ve always had an affection for the adorably old-timey mailboxes at Magic Kingdom! Not only were they beautiful (and SUPER Americana!), but once upon a time, you could literally use them to send letters and postcards!

Welp, those days are sadly over, as we have confirmed with Cast Members that the mailboxes have officially been taken away!
Mailboxes Removed From Magic Kingdom
The other Disney World theme parks have mailboxes as well, so we will keep checking on them to see if they have been removed. If they reappear in Magic Kingdom, we’ll let you know!

Another piece of the fun is now gone. How sad… They could have stayed to keep the hometown appearance, but they are gone.
This is a sad day for me. One of my must-do’s was to mail postcards from the Magic Kingdom. Next you’ll be telling us they’ve discontinued postcards!
No reason as to why?
I will miss the mailboxes as I’m one of those who like to mail postcards. Did notice the last time I was there the postcards were somewhat limited. Can you still mail them using one of the places on main street or is it now only at the resort?

Why have you removed the mail boxes from the magic Kingdom
What a shame. I always loved using the mailboxes to send post cards home. Another part of the magic gone. This makes me so sad, another hit from 2020.
Last year we went to City Hall and got the postmark from Magic Kingdom there. I think it was raining and soaked the letter we sent so it wouldn’t go in the mailbox. I wonder if they still take mail there.
They are back as of 5 days ago! We just mailed our daughter her valentines card.

Will we still be able to get our mail postmark stamped at the Chamber of Commerce to send? Are there other locations besides the mailbox we can drop our postcards off at the send to our friends?

Crystal, you can drop mail into a slot on Main Street, U.S.A., and on Sunset Boulevard.
