Are you kicking off the first full week of 2022 in Disney World?
If you’re headed to the Most Magical Place on Earth next week, it’s time to get packing! Well, we’re here to help. Let’s take a look at a weather update so that you know EXACTLY what to bring.
Weather Forecast
Last week brought us surprisingly warm temperatures for the start of the New Year and guess what? It ACTUALLY might get a little cooler this week. Winter, is it really you?
According to The Weather Channel, we are going to see hotter days and cooler nights. That’s right, you might find yourself with a BIT of a chill when you’re getting ready to watch the fireworks.
January 3rd
Monday, January 3rd will bring us a BIG drop in temperatures from the ones we saw last week with a 66-degree high. We saw generally cooler (and sometimes downright COLD) temperatures earlier this season, and it looks like we might be inching back down.
That low is sitting right around 54 degrees. You might think 54 degrees doesn’t sound too cold but be warned! You might feel a lot chillier when you’ve been in a comfy 66 degrees all day.
January 4th
The next day, January 4th will bring us another warmer and drier day. You can get used to sunny days this week! Those temperatures are gonna end up a lot warmer than Monday’s during the day and a little warmer at night. Get ready for 76 degrees in the day and 59 degrees at night.
We love to see low rain chances in the forecast. Fingers crossed next week will look as beautiful as it’s expected to in the predictions.
January 5th
On Wednesday, January 5th, the high warms up just a few degrees…
…and so does the low! Florida winters are typically characterized by comfortable days and cool nights — great weather for exploring the Disney World theme parks!
January 6th
For Thursday, January 6th, that high jumps up a bit to 79 degrees. This time of year is nice because we get a LOT of sun without the INSANE UV rays of the summer.
Still, that doesn’t mean you’re safe from a burn! Wear sunscreen and reapply often to make sure you stay comfy and SAFE for your whole vacation! Fair warning: Thursday brings us our highest rain chance of the week.
January 7th
The week continues with similar high temperatures as the rest of the week on January 7th with cooler temperatures to follow at night. We won’t complain about a consistently nice stretch of days!
There’s still no rain in the forecast, but that’s not a guarantee. Remember, Florida is notorious for sudden precipitation, even when it’s not in the forecast!
January 8th
Saturday, January 8th brings us another day of those pleasantly warm temperatures. Grab that layer for the evening. We’ve DEFINITELY been guilty of having to buy a pricy Disney jacket.
Here, we’re looking at a 75-degree high and a 57-degree low.
January 9th
And we’ll wrap up our week on January 9th with those temperatures sitting at a comfy and warmer 79-degree high and a cooler 62-degree low.
With temperatures fluctuating a little bit this week, you might see your favorite type of weather at some point. Looks like January in Disney World has something for everyone!
Overview of the Week
Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. The temperatures are SUPER stable this week. We’re mostly looking at 60s to 70s highs and 50s to 60s lows.

How Should You Plan?
If you are headed to Disney World next week, we’ve got a few tips on how to plan for the weather!
Get ready to be warm — AND cold!
It can be SUPER nice to escape from your colder hometown and head to Disney World where you have sunny 80-degree days. Still, you might be surprised to find yourself feeling hot and cold next week! Make sure you’re staying safe and comfortable when you find yourself in those vacation temperatures!
We recommend keeping a cap or sunglasses handy to keep the sun out of your eyes and wear sunscreen to make sure you don’t end up with a painful burn! Then, when the night rolls around, add an extra layer! Keeping a scarf or jacket in your bag can do WONDERS when you’re feeling a sudden Florida chill.

Get ready for the unexpected!
Just because the forecast looks like we’ll be rain-free allllll week long doesn’t mean you should skip packing that rain layer. You never know when a sudden shower might crop up!
One good option? Bring an insulated rain jacket! That way, you have one layer to help you stay warm if it gets cold and dry if it gets rainy!
