If you’re anything like us, you probably have some Disney merchandise in your home, right?
It could be a few pairs of Minnie ears or a whole room filled with collectibles, either way, it’s safe to say you’re a fan like we are. And, with Disney as a company having been around for almost 100 years, there is a LOT of merch out there, people! Now, it’s time to dust off those vintage items in your attic or possibly take things out of storage, because we’ve scoured eBay, and we’re here to tell you about some VERY valuable Disney merchandise that you might have at home!
VHS Tapes
Remember VHS tapes? If you’re over the age of about 20, we’re guessing you at least have a vague memory of watching movies on VHS tapes rather than DVDs or through streaming services. In fact, you might even have a whole collection of old tapes at home! Well, it’s time to look through them, because some of them could be worth a lot of money.
We’ve seen Disney VHS tapes go for a LOT of money on eBay. There was a Cinderella VHS from 1988 that sold for $3,000, and a Cars VHS that sold for $1500! That’s some serious cash for one tape.
Another one we saw was a VHS tape of The Sword in the Stone that sold for $500.
So, you might want to check out which editions you have of certain Disney movies, because they could rake in a bunch of cash if you wanted to sell them.
Barbies
Barbies have been around for over 60 years, so of course Disney has collaborated to make some of your favorite characters! These usually sell for more if they’re still in their original packaging and have never been opened, but even if they have, you can still get a lot of money for certain dolls depending on which you have. We saw the duo of Jack Sparrow and Angelica Barbies sell for $240.50!
There are also lesser-known barbies, like this Disney Barbie Fairytopia doll. This one was the toy of the year in 2005, so it recently sold on eBay for $186.50.
If you were more of a Disney Channel fan, you could sell some old dolls like this Alex Russo one from Wizards of Waverly Place! It sold for $199.95.
The more rare the doll, the more money you could get for it!
Snow Globes
A bunch of people collect snow globes, and Disney has made a lot of different versions over the years. Some of them are super uncommon like limited editions or vintage pieces that no one has seen around in decades, which increases their value. The Little Mermaid “Kiss the Girl” snow globe recently sold for about $1225!
We also saw this Alice in Wonderland snow globe sell for $800…
…and this The Princess and the Frog snow globe go for $525.75.
If you have a unique Disney snow globe, it’s possible that it could be worth a lot!
Pins
Pins are one of the most popular Disney items to collect, with people pin trading all around the parks to this day. And, pins have been around for a while, so some of them are very old or very rare. Some of the most valuable we’ve seen online are the Walt Disney Imagineering editions of pins, like this Alice in Wonderland pin that sold for $1802.77…
…a Belle pin that sold for $1580.55…
…and a Rapunzel pin that went for $1675.
Those are some VERY valuable pins, people!
Lunch Boxes
Metal lunch boxes are definitely still used as novelty items these days, but they used to be the norm! We spotted some pretty cool vintage Disney lunch boxes online, and if you own any of these, they could be worth a decent chunk of change. Check out this Disney school bus lunch box and thermos from the 1960s that sold for $300.
We also saw this Davy Crockett lunch box sell for $256.20…
…and this Peter Pan lunch box sell for $193.50.
Who knew that the containers used to bring your lunch to school could be worth so much!
Cookie Jars
Cookie jars are another popular Disney item that people will pay a lot of money for, especially for the more rare or unusual items. We saw this cookie jar of the Siamese cats from The Lady and the Tramp sell for about $2,800!
There was also one of The Lady and the Tramp that went for $356…
…and this fun train cookie jar featuring Donald Duck and Chip ‘n’ Dale that sold for $217.50.
That’s a lot of cash for a container to hold some cookies!
Other Items
We also found some other very cool vintage Disney items that we wanted to show you! Check out this Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs radio from the 1930s. It recently sold on eBay for $888.
Another really cool item is this 1977 Mickey Zippo lighter that’s never been used before! It recently sold for $732.
Finally, check out this T-shirt featuring Runaway Brain Mickey Mouse. This is from the Runaway Brain short film Disney released back in 1995! It sold for $1200.
This is just a small sampling of what kind of Disney items sell for big money online. So, we’d recommend going through your old Disney merchandise to see if you have anything like these! Maybe you want to sell it to make some extra cash, or put it on display in a safe place to make sure it stays in a good condition. We’re sure that these items will only increase in value over time!
If you want some vintage Disney merchandise without paying these big price tags, you can check out things like the Disney Vault Collection that was released for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. It features a lot of vintage designs on things like T-shirts, shoes, hats, and more.
