In case you missed it, there’s a new way to get to Disney World.
Forget flying, especially if you live in Florida. Brightline has opened its station at Orlando International Airport and has even doubled its service since then. We’ve even been on the train to see what it’s like (and it certainly has benefits over flying). Well, we’ve got some news about this train service: it’s about to extend even farther in Florida!
Brightline recently announced that it has formally launched a Request for Proposals for a new station in Southeastern Florida, aka the Treasure Coast. Yes, that means that the company is looking to build A NEW station, which will extend its service.
“We’re excited to begin the process of identifying a station location in the Treasure Coast and have seen tremendous support from the local community,” said Brightline Chief Executive Officer Michael Reininger. “Expanding Brightline into the Treasure Coast region will make Brightline one of the most accessible forms of transportation in Florida, giving access to nearly half of the state’s residents.”
So what does that mean for you? Well, if you live in southeast Florida, you will soon have high-speed train service to Orlando (and trust us, the train is way better than driving or flying). Or if you’re visiting the Orlando area, you’ll have even more options to extend your Disney World trip to see more parts of Florida more convenient way.
Currently, Brightline has stations in Orlando, Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. But the new Orlando station is just the beginning — Brightline looks to be expanding throughout the state.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Brightline news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
