Calling all foodies! A popular dining event is coming back to Orlando this year!
Between the festivals at EPCOT to the culinary demonstrations in the area, Orlando is consistently blessed with fantastic foodie events year-round. Well, the fun isn’t slowing down any time soon with news of the return of a super popular dining event in Orlando!
We hope you’ve built up an appetite, because, per the Orlando Sentinel, Visit Orlando’s Magic Dining, presented by Orlando Health, is returning to Orlando for its 19th year!
Running from August 16th through September 30th, 2024, Magical Dining will feature 150 participating restaurants. According to the Orlando Sentinel and Visit Orlando, 25 of those 150 restaurants are new to the event and nine are Michelin Guide-recognized.
The event will feature a two-tier pricing system that was introduced in 2023 that offers three-course prix fixe menus fo $40 or $60. This year’s Magical Dining event will also maintain the tradition of $1 from each $40 dinner and $2 from each $60 dinner being donated to a local nonprofit selected by Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining. This year’s recipient is The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, an organization that helps residents from hardships by providing essentials. The Mustard Seed is all about sustainability and has diverted nearly 4 million cubic feet of landfill waste, per the Orlando Sentinel.
Further adding to the philanthropic spirit, Visit Orlando will donate an additional $3,000 to one local nonprofit in each of Orange County’s six commission districts. In line with The Mustard Seed’s philosophy, the theme of the donation will be all about creating thriving and sustainable communities.
Since the charity aspect was introduced in 2009, Magical Dining has raised over $2.5 million. Last year, $269,272 was donated to charities supporting survivors of abuse in Central Florida, including The Lifeboat Project, which was able to hire a case manager, purchase new vehicles, and build a safe house. It goes without saying that taking part in this delicious event does a lot of good for a lot of people.
