Pixar’s 2026 film has an official release date!

After a few pandemic-affected years had people questioning whether Pixar still had “it”, the legendary movie studio is currently riding high. Their 2024 release Inside Out 2 just bested Frozen II to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, and the D23 Ultimate Fan Event saw announcements of The Incredibles 3, Toy Story 5, new Monsters, Inc. land and Coco attractions at Disney theme parks, and some new Disney + series, and Pixar’s newest original film.
Riding on all of this comes the release date for Pixar’s 2026 film Hoppers: March 6th, 2026.
According to Pixar, the film will tell the story of a group of scientists who have “discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.”
The film will be directed by Daniel Chong, produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, and feature the voices of Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm.

The film will follow another original/non-sequel Pixar film into theaters, as Elio, the long-delayed original sci-fi adventure film is scheduled for release on June 13th, 2025.
