A major change starts in Disney World today!

Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle
Disney planning in 2025 requires thinking about things like the Disney Dining Plan, major closures for the year, and the brand new changes to Disney’s skip-the-line service. Speaking of some of those big changes, they begin today, January 21st, 2025, and we have all the details right here!
Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass is now available for every Disney World guest! The Lightning Lane Premiere Pass was rolled out in October 2024, giving guests who purchased it access to every lightning lane in their park of the day without needing to book a time. This pass also lets purchasers ride each attraction once a day.

At the time of the launch, the only people who could purchase this special pass were anyone staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, and Shades of Green before it became available to all other Disney World Resort guests soon after. That changes today because now, Premier Pass is available for every Disney World guest!

You don’t need to stay in a Disney hotel to take advantage of this skip-the-line service but if you are, you still get a bit of a leg up! Guests staying on Disney property can purchase the pass 7 days before the first day of their resort stay and all other guests can purchase it 3 days in advance. This is still an advantage for resort guests because this pass can and will sell out.

When we headed into the parks, we received this push notification on our My Disney Experience app!
We have seen Magic Kingdom’s Premier Pass sell out before despite how pricey this service is. Prices do vary based on season and demand. At the time of writing, Magic Kingdom’s pass is $379, EPCOT is $229, Hollywood Studios is $329, and Animal Kingdom is $129. These prices are per person per day and they only apply to one park meaning if you purchase Magic Kingdom’s pass, you only get to enjoy Magic Kingdom attractions.

The Premier Pass does include every lightning lane, including the single pass attractions which typically cost extra. The single passes apply to the most popular rides in each theme park and with the Premier Pass being as pricey as it is, we are glad to see those big ticket rides included.

The pass also includes select ride photos with your purchase. This service is much more convenient than the Multi Pass service which requires you to book times for your skip-the-line passes and only gives you access to most of the lightning lanes per day. With convenience comes cash but if you want to make your Disney World trip even more stress-free, this might be an option for you!

According to the Disney website, they are still piloting this service with very limited quantities so we might still see some changes in the future. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news and updates.

Whoopee! Just what I’ve been waiting for. I can sleep in a Maytag packing crate but get a Premier L L pass!
This whole concept is totally ridiculous and disgusting on Disney’s part. You have spent money on travel, hotels, park tickets but, wait! There’s more! Now you can dole out MORE money for the privilege of not waiting in line!!!
Disney World has been a major feature in our family’s lives for years but this fills me with zero joy. A fantastic revenue generating opportunity for Disney Inc, to be sure, but yet another nail in the coffin of Walt’s original vision of the parks being places where families could come together and enjoy themselves without concern for their background or financial status. With Epic Universe on the immediate horizon, I would also have expected Disney to be implementing clever approaches that increased its appeal and accessibility rather than make Disney World even more costly for its core family demographic #thesimpsonswereright
