Disneyland’s annual Season of the Force event is almost upon us, and this year the resort is planning to celebrate the Star Wars saga in some exciting new — and interesting — ways.
The 2025 Season of the Force event is scheduled to run from March 28th through May 11th at Disneyland, and will feature a new nighttime experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a first-time visitor to Batuu, plus a look at new food and beverage, merchandise, and more.
The major highlights of the event — and potential game-changers for Galaxy’s Edge — are two new entertainment offerings:
The first is Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, a new nightly projection show that will “transform the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon evoking memories of some of the greatest moments in galactic history as an iconic musical score, comprised of familiar themes heard throughout the films of the Skywalker saga, draws the audience into the legendary story of the Skywalkers.”
The second is a new character encounter with a “shadowy visitor” who will appear on Batuu for a limited time. This figure looks like — and is implied by Disney to be — Luke Skywalker.
These two entertainment offerings mark the debut of Skywalker characters in Galaxy’s Edge, as the Star Wars saga’s principal family had been mostly missing from Galaxy’s Edge and its timeline since the land opened in 2019.
The popular Fire of the Rising Moons show will also be staged on select nights. This Star Wars-centric presentation of Disneyland’s nightly fireworks sees the “skies over Batuu light up in bursts of color, imaginations are ignited with the iconic music associated with tales from across the galaxy.”
Galaxy’s Edge will also see a new addition to the popular Lightsaber building experience at Savi’s Workshop. Guests will now have the chance to “build their own Lightsabers from scraps that have been scavenged by different pirates throughout the galaxy and made their way to Batuu.”
Beyond Galaxy’s Edge, the park will also see the return of the popular Hyperspace Mountain overlay of Space Mountain.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Disney special event without oodles of new merchandise options. In addition to the aforementioned new Savi’s experience, these include:
- Star Wars character plush options — including Yoda, R2-D2, an Ewok, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper — for use with Disney’s popular create-your-own headbands.
- A retro-inspired clothing collection from Her Universe by Ashley Eckstein.
- A Boba Fett jersey.
- An exclusive Hyperspace Mountain tee shirt.
There will also be several themed snack and dining options including:
- Pi-Co Punch: Pineapple juice, coconut milk, and lime juice, garnished with pineapple chunks and lotus root.
- Wookiee Cookie: Available at Grand Californian Great Hall Cart through May 6.
- Toydaria Swirl: Green milk with chile-lime seasoning and mango jellies (Non-alcoholic ). Available at the Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- Fried Chicken Baos: Two crispy chicken baos, sweet chili sauce, scallion salad, and cucumber coins. Available at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
In addition, the event will offer a Droid Parts Premium Popcorn Bucket…
…and a Darth Vader Premium Mug, both of which are available — with a limit of 10 per person — now.
The Star Wars Seasons of the Force event is headed back to Disneyland this spring, with a litany of special entertainment, merchandise, and dining offerings. Stay tuned to DFB for more!
