2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend Dates and Theme

Having made its debut in 2022, the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend offers a “completely different experience” every year… SURPRISE! The 2027 Springtime Surprise Weekend will take place from April 8th – April 11th, 2027, with the theme of Running Through the Years featuring “beloved Characters ranging from the modern to the nostalgic.”

General registration for the 2027 Springtime Surprise Weekend will open on July 7th, 2026 on runDisney.com. For Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members, registration opened on June 30th, 2026.

Events tend to sell out very quickly. So, if running in these races is something you’re dreaming of doing, be ready to go as soon as the registration window opens!

There are also two charities that offer 2027 Springtime Surprise Weekend running slots for individuals who meet fundraising goals in partnership with the charity: these include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Hope Story, and you can learn more about the organizations and fundraising requirements to participate in a runDisney race HERE.

2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend Participant Information

runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler

When: April 11, 2027
Time: 5AM
Theme and Characters: “On April 11th––a very important date––join Alice, the Cheshire Cat and a garden full of spring flowers for 10 miles inspired by the 1951 sensation, Alice in Wonderland. Be sure to stay on the marked route so you don’t fall down any rabbit holes.”

Registration opening dates are as follows: 

• Club runDisney Gold and Platinum Registration — June 30, 2026
• General Registration — July 7, 2026 at 10AM ET

Registration fees are as follows, based on date of purchase for in-person race:

• July 7, 2026 – January 4, 2027: $239.00
• Beginning January 5, 2027: $249.00

Prices include a 6.6% platform service fee.

runDisney Springtime Surprise 10K

Date: April 10, 2027
Time: 5AM
Theme and Characters: “Golly what a day April 10th will be as you hit your 6.2-mile target on a run hosted by Robin Hood, Prince John and Sir Hiss from 1973’s Robin Hood. Note that robbery and archery are strictly prohibited.”

runDisney Springtime Surprise 5K

Time: 4:30AM
Theme and Characters: “How sweet it is! On April 9th, feel the sugar rush during this digitally inspired 3.1-mile run with Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz from the 2012 hit, Wreck-It Ralph. We can (almost) guarantee that Vanellope won’t swipe your medal.”

Registration opening dates are as follows:

• General Registration — July 7, 2026 at 10AM ET

Registration fees are as follows, based on date of purchase for in-person race:

runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge

The runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge combines the 5K, 10K and the 10-Miler races for a total of 19.3 miles.

Complete all three races within the pacing requirements and you’ll earn a Challenge medal featuring Steamboat Willie in addition to your 10-Miler, 10k, and 5K medals! (“Finish all three races for a total of 19.3 miles and receive a bonus medal featuring classic Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from 1928’s Steamboat Willie. But please do not attempt to match the cartoon’s 7:47 runtime.“) Registration for the runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge is required to receive the runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge medal.

runDisney Health & Fitness Expo

Participants must attend the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at least one day prior to their first event to pick up their race bib, participant shirt and pre-purchased merchandise.
