runDisney hosts several race weekend events throughout the year, with distances ranging from 5Ks to full marathons (and runners and walkers can participate in more than one, if you’re feeling a little goofy or dopey… 😉 ).
2022 Walt Disney World Marathon
There are even distances just for kids to participate in these weekend-long events, which are complete with Health and Fitness Expos, fantastic race bling (MEDALS!!), Disney CHARACTERS along the race courses, and SO much more!
Princess Daisy at the Disney Princess 5K Finish Line
There are even virtual race options for those who can’t make it to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort for an event.

runDisney Races in Walt Disney World
2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
The 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will take place from January 7th – January 11th, 2026!

The following races make up the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend:
- Walt Disney World Marathon
- Walt Disney World Half Marathon
- Walt Disney World 10K
- Walt Disney World 5K
Participants may also opt to take part in Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge by participating in both the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on Saturday AND the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday for a total of 39.3 miles (and you’ll receive an EXTRA medal for your efforts), or the Dopey Challenge whereby guests participate in ALL FOUR RACES for a total of 48.6 miles! (Yep, you’ll get an extra medal for that one, too, PLUS the Goofy’s Challenge medal.) Virtual Races are also available for all distances and both Challenges.
General registration for the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will open on March 11, 2025 at 10AM EST on runDisney.com. For Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members, registration will open on March 4, 2024 at 10AM EST.

2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
The 2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will take place from February 20-24, 2025!

General Registration for the 2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is NOW OPEN (as of July 30, 2024 at 10AM Eastern Time) on runDisney.com. For Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members, registration opened on July 23, 2024.
The following races and events make up the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend:
Participants may also opt to take part in the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge by participating in both the Princess Enchanted 10K on Saturday and the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday for a total of 19.3 miles (and you’ll receive an EXTRA medal for your efforts)!

General registration for the 2026 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will open on June 24, 2025 at 10AM EST on runDisney.com. Making its debut in 2022, the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend offers a “completely different experience” every year… SURPRISE! The 2025 Springtime Surprise Challenge will take place from April 3-6, 2025! The 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is “Disney Celebrates Heroes!”

The runDisney 2025 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, part of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, will run from October 23rd and October 26th, 2025.

The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend made its debut in the fall of 2024, and it will return from September 4th through September 7th, 2025!

runDisney Coast to Coast Challenge
The runDisney Coast to Coast Challenge is BACK! Here’s how it works: If you complete any runDisney race of 10 miles or more at BOTH Disney World and Disneyland in the same calendar year, you’ll get a special Coast to Coast Race Challenge Medal!

Note that multi-event challenges (such as the Dumbo Double Dare, Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, and Dopey Challenge) can also count toward the Challenge.
Note that runners so not need to register separately for the challenge — only for the races they plan on participating in. Only one Coast to Coast challenge medal can be run in any given calendar year. Please note that virtual races don’t count towards the challenge.
runDisney Summer Virtual Race Series
The 2025 runDisney Summer Virtual Series is coming back from June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025.Virtual Series participants complete a 5K of their choice (from three events) at home on their own schedule and receive a medal for their efforts. Participants who complete all three 5Ks receive an additional series completion medal!

runDisney 12Ks of Christmas Virtual Race Series
For the 2023 holiday season, a virtual run series dubbed the 12Ks of Christmas made its debut, and it will run again (HA!) from December 1-31, 2025!

This race series features three 4K running events (which is 12Ks total) as a challenge — all hosted by fan-favorite Disney characters as the mascots! Participants receive race memorabilia, including a participant sweatshirt, a holiday CORKCICLE® mug and a box of Twinings® holiday tea, and themed medals (which DOUBLE as ornaments!) to commemorate your success.
Registration for the 2025 runDisney 12Ks of Christmas Virtual Series will open on July 8th, 2025 on rundisney.com.

runDisney Virtual Love on the Run 14-Miler
A NEW virtual run series is making its debut from February 1 – 28, 2025: the Love on the Run 14-Miler combines THREE virtual races (a 2-miler, 5-miler and 7-miler to total 14 miles) and celebrates love and friendship featuring “Disney and Pixar duos.”

Participating in a runDisney race means that a Health & Fitness Expo is part of your experience, as a stop is required to pick up your race number (and other goodies)!
ESPN Wide World of Sports
In Walt Disney World, these typically take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. At Disneyland, these typically take place at Disneyland Hotel.
