Editor’s Note: This location no longer serves ice cream. As of September 4, 2013, Fountain View is now a Starbucks location.
Here’s a food tip: every single Disney park has at least one placed where you can get real, hand-dipped ice cream cones! And if Mickey bars and ice pops aren’t cutting it for you while you’re in Epcot, you can head right over to Fountain View Ice Cream.
This place has had a number of names and services over the years. For quite a while, it was a bakery serving delectable baked goods and treats. It’s still serving delicious treats, but they’re a bit colder than before!
A couple of things that make Fountain View notable are its location, and its home-made menu items:
Location
Situated on some prime real estate right next to the Fountain of Nations in Epcot’s Future World, Fountain View offers a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the Fountain’s many musical water shows.
There’s indoor and outdoor seating, as well, so even when it’s raining, Fountain View offers a nice diversion while you’re waiting for the storm to end.
Eats
The Fountain View offers Edy’s ice cream in the following flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, and No Sugar Added Butter Pecan.
However, what’s makes this spot stand out are the home-made items on the menu.
That delicious smell that permeates the dining spot is freshly made waffle cones — straight from the iron. Enjoy your ice cream in a waffle cone, or have a big ol’ sundae in a waffle bowl!
Or, indulge in one of my favorite Disney World treats — a home-made ice cream sandwich! You can find these in one or two spots in every Disney theme park — this is the only spot in Epcot that serves them, to my knowledge. What’s so great about these snacks? Two home-made chocolate chip cookies surround a huge (and I mean HUGE) scoop of your choice of ice cream flavor. There’s really nothing like it. The sweetness of this treat will send you through the roof, and it might be best to share your first one with a friend until you build up a tolerance.

While I do like the new Fountain View….I WANT MY BAKERY BACK! It was a tradition with my family that every time we went to EPCOT Center (which was at least once or twice a month) we always had breakfast at the Fountain View Bakery. I would say they were better than the Main Street Bakery.
AJ, you are so right about the smell of the fresh waffle cones; as soon as I saw the title of the article I could smell them! I could skip the ice cream part and just have the cone 🙂
I liked Fountain View better as a bakery. Couldn’t they have fit an ice cream place somewhere else in all that empty Innoventions West space? Instead, EPCOT has these “Espresso” coffee and baked goods carts that are quite disappointing. Even Fountain View Bakery didn’t match Main Street Bakery’s cinnamon rolls though.
Armand — I do remember the delicious breakfast items at Fountain View. I was pretty depressed when I found out that the bakery was gone, too… Alas, change is constant in our happy place!
Sarah — The cones are the best! It was so much fun to watch the CMs making the bowls right there, too!
Scott — Those cinnamon rolls are in a class of their own!
We always get the cookie ice cream sandwiches at the Main Street bakery. I never knew they had them over at Epcot…….yummm Can’t wait for our trip in Sept. to get one 🙂
I visited Fountain View for the first time in February. You’re right, it’s amazing. I had a great dish of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I didn’t know about the ice cream sandwiches though! Must must try that next time.
Kristian — Hooray! Glad to have shared that info with you!
Deanna — Yes, Yes! Those ice cream sandwiches are some of the best things about Disney.
Do all the items with the little logo next to them count as a ‘snack’ on the dining plan?
JTG — Yep! Everything with the DDP snack logo next to it counts as a snack on the dining plan!
I loved it here, the prices were really cheap we were suprised as theme park cafes seem so expensive. My daughter had the homemade ice cream sandwich it was huge, she loved it. Yummy 🙂
