One of my favorite Disneyland gourmands, Eric Chu (who also delivers some delicious eats over at Chu’s Choices), sent along these delectable photos from the Cupcake Store in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District!
Eric and Nicole chose a “day and night” cupcake and a red velvet cupcake — each $4.45 including tax. The review: “Pricey, but delicious. Moist, and the icing isn’t too sugary sweet.”
Here’s a peek at what flavors you can try — and the specialty flavors for each day!
Thanks, Eric and Nicole!

Now we’re talkin’! A real cupcake store in Disneyland! I wonder how it compares to some of the local chains (Sprinkles, etc) – they sure look delish. BTW, I’m here in WA and Bellevue, WA has over four cupcake establishments – it’s amazing how popular these sweet treats have become!
Carolyn — I’ve heard that it compares negatively to Sprinkles from a few people 🙁 Still, I can’t wait to try for myself! (Speaking of cupcake establishments, I live with 2(!!) in walking distance!)
Two in walking distance? Very dangerous! 🙂
Attention Disney suits; Bring this to Orlando ASAP.
Yum! I am a fan of cupcakes…especially after working with children…because they are easy to serve. These look beautiful!
MmMmM…. cakey substance in the form of cups. Must… get… to Disneyland.
Carolyn — Oh yes! Believe me, I know!
Alan — Ha! We have lots of great cupcakes in Disney World, they’re just sorta spread out!
Jayne — Good point!
Eric — Hee hee — hope you get there soon! When’s the next trip?
AJ – You’re right about that but there is something about the idea of a cupcake store with those beauties that make my mouth water, my stomach growl and my body start to produce insulin.
I’ve noticed recently that the cupcake business has become popular quite recently. We have a few stores around here as well that specialize in them.
Looking at the menu, my guess is that it changes quite often because Pumpkin is a seasonal flavour (Unless they use the canned stuff–which I hope they don’t).
Also, I noticed Carrot and Black Forest cupcakes have TWO days a week!
We have a cupcake store here called Dozen. Seriously addictive, especially the Carrot Cupcakes. Why I think of cupcakes as healthier than cake, I have no idea…some mistaken sense that if I can walk with a dessert that serving size can’t be that bad. Right? Right?
As for the Cupcake Store, I have to say that I’m jonesing for a Pumpkin one because, as Josh pointed out, it is the season. But love the idea of a Red Velvet Cake with the right kind of icing. Eric’s spot-on – it should be too sweet.
