UPDATE: This will not be happening at the Festival after all. Unfortunately, that “all items subject to change” policy is alive and well!
More exciting news today about the 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! In addition to the Special Event booking date, we also know that a brand new (free!!) addition to the festival will be debuting this year!
The Odyssey Lounge (which we’re guessing will be located in the Odyssey Center between Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase) will be a part of the 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
Apparently this location will act as a sort of “internet cafe” — offering the chance for guests at the Festival to sign on and communicate with friends and family, play games, and surf the web.
The Odyssey Lounge will even offer a spot to charge your phone and other electronic devices. Sounds like the perfect place for me to sit while I’m updating the Disney Food Blog with pics of all of the new menu items at the World Showcase kiosks!! 🙂
Of course, consumables will not be absent from the Lounge! Guests will have access to wine, beer, and cocktails! Woo!
We’ll keep you updated when we hear more! Until then, check out our 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival page for all the latest details!
This sounds like a good idea for an Annual Passholder lounge as well after the festival is over. With the ever increasing price of an AP, it would be nice if they added another perk or two.
Yea, that place won’t be crowded.
I’m so excited to hear about this lounge! I know it’s going to be full of bloggers charging their batteries and updating their readers. It’s great that folks will be able to escape for a bit!
It would be great if they left this open year round for this purpose. It would be even better if they put an attraction here, but…….
maybe this is a step toward wifi in the park??? the last survey Disney sent me was all about the usefulness of getting instant access to info while on your vacation, maybe this is a result of the survey results?
Evan — Awesome idea!!
Erica — For real.
Kristen — Silly bloggers! Don’t they know there’s FOOD out there?!?
Mark D. — Don’t ask for too much!
Jill — Ooh… love that idea!
Now this sounds like an interesting idea! I’d love to be able to get inside there again- I hope they don’t change the decor too much!
I wonder how much they’ll charge for wi fi….
But- a place to charge your electronics sounds great! I’m the one finding a place in the corner of a gift shop or resturant to charge up!
