Let’s face it. There are a few foodie experiences at Walt Disney World and Disneyland that we don’t normally find at our hometown restaurants!
We thought it would be fun to put a few “You know you’re eating in Disney World when…” thoughts together, and we’d love to hear your additions!
Leave us a comment with your own “You know you’re eating in Disney World or Disneyland when…” experience! 😉
You Know You’re Eating In Disney World When…
There are strangers eating in the back seat of your car.
You memorize the color of the soap in the bathroom while your kids willingly set the table.
You can’t wait to take a bite out of a mouse ear.
You get bragging rights for eating dinner while watching fireworks.
You ask a yellow bear if he has a rumbly in his tumbly.
You had something called POG juice, jungle juice, or frunch with your morning meal.
You can drink around the World, then take a boat or monorail “home.”
Prince Charming really does stop to say hello!
It makes perfect sense to have lunch while being entertained by an alien named Sonny.
You just paid $25 for a burger (and you’re OK with that).
You’re excited to have a mouse in the kitchen.
You take great pleasure at waving a napkin in the air. Repeatedly.
You can snack around the world without bringing your passport.
Your waffle has a face.
Chocolate means more if it’s shaped like a shoe.
You’re eating in a spinning restaurant. With a Chipmunk.
We’ve had great fun with this post, so be sure to look for a Part Two!

Great post–those are some of the things I love about dining at Disney. My personal favorite is having lunch looking out at an African Savannah in Florida!
Hahaha this is so true! How about you know you’re dining in Disney when you WANT to be told to keep your elbows off the table and to finish everything on your plate! (50’s Prime-Time)
There’s a dinosaur skull above your head and you consider handprints on the wall “art.” (Restaurantosaurus: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sleepytimeninja/6210266769/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/sleepytimeninja/6210779692/in/photostream/)

Love This!!!!! Another you know your eating in Disney when… you know your eating in Disney when… you server can potentially have you sing, dance or call alot of somewhat spontaneous attention to you and you are perfectly ok with it and are excited about it.
Great post! Loving the Mickey waffle. Seeing at the Epcot’s photo, I miss the Paris’ DisneyWorld…
you know you are eating at Disney when on your servers name tag is what state or country he or she is from… when we were at le cellier there was a server from our city in CANADA…
This is great.
Love this! How about – when you’re having a quiet Bistro lunch in France and the server arrives at your table, lifts up the cover on the plate and…………………there’s a mouse wearing a chef’s hat under it!
…. you are stuffed from your steak and eggs from breakfast at 8am, yet find it completely acceptable (in fact you’d have it no other way), to eat a hunking turkey leg at 10am as a mid-morning snack, nevermind that you can barely eat a quarter of it.
This post made my day. You capture the food aspect of the Magic of Disney is such an awesome way!
The woman bringing your food makes you eat all your vegetables before you leave, and you’re paying for the privilege.
The volcano blows up on a regular schedule.
It’s always twilight.
You can look out the window on one side of the room and see an old west town, and then turn your head to the other window and see a European style castle courtyard fair.
You know you are eating at Disney when you have your reservations all set 180 days out and you can already taste the food and see yourself in the restaurants!
Ohmigosh I love these!! You guys are awesome!! Totally agreed…
you know you r eating in disney when you are just as excited for the amazing, special food as you are for the rides

You know you are eating at Disney World when a stranger rides by on a hobby horse singing happy birthday to his wife. (Whispering Canyons Cafe)
I thought of another!
You know you’re eating in Disney when, even though you’re in the middle of stuffing your face, you excitedly leap up from your seat to participate in doing The Hustle with a bunch of enthusiastic Cast Members, and nobody–CM or Guest–has any qualms about embarrassing him or herself because they’re having so much fun!
These are awesome!!! Keep ’em comin’!!!
Where is the chocolate shoe from?
Hi Tina, that specific picture was taken at our 10th anniversary vow renewal where we had a reception at the Grand Floridian.
However, you can also get the slipper delivered to a GF restaurant or Cinderella’s Royal Table. Here’s more info on ordering: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/06/30/celebrate-with-a-chocolate-cinderella-slipper/.
I recently had one for my birthday at a GF restaurant and it was as delicious as ever!!!
All of these pictures make me want to go back to Disney World right now!
You know you are eating in Disney when you take a photo of everything before you eat it! 🙂
You know you’re eating in Disney when…
You’re eating popcorn out of a droid (R2D2)
Everything’s shaped like Mickey!
You know you are eating in Disney when your microwave sandwich cost 3 times as much as it would at a convenience store.
You know you are eating in Disney when your $2.50 bottle of water cost the same as a 6-pak of bottle water in the grocery store.
