Now that the Main Street Bakery is closed for renovation and Starbucks-ifying, guests have to go elsewhere for their breakfast pastries!
This past weekend, our colleague (and Goofy Challenge Medalist!!!) Andy Jackson from Eating (and Drinking) around the World sent over a few pics from the Magic Kingdom of the newest breakfast game in town: The Tomorrowland Terrace!
Usually open sporadically, Tomorrowland Terrace has had various menu changes throughout the past couple of years. But it rarely (if ever) offers breakfast.
Now, while the offerings aren’t as extensive as what you could have found at the Bakery had it been open, I’m pretty intrigued by a couple of the choices…
Beignets?!? Wha?! I wonder if they’re more like the Port Orleans French Quarter Beignets, or more like the Disneyland Mickey Beignets! Anyone out there try them yet?
And it’s good to see that the Main Street Bakery ham and cheese croissant is still available… Yum!
Drinks are pretty standard as usual, though… nothing too crazy happening there! 😉
Notably missing? Those cinnamon rolls! If you can’t live without ’em, remember to head over to Gaston’s Tavern for their big-as-your-head cinnamon rolls — they’re very similar to the ones at the Bakery (and were actually made IN the bakery). Check out our Cinnamon Roll Throwdown for more details on the differences… .
What Main Street Bakery Breakfast Treat are you most going to miss during the renovation? Let us know in the comments section below!

Do you know if they are selling the main street bakery cookie anywhere? I know I can get the ice cream cookie sandwiches at the ice cream parlor but i’m not sure where togo if I just want a cookie.

Sounds yummy and I love that they’re offering beignets! I won’t be there before the renovation is scheduled to be finished but it would be cool if they kept most of the former offerings of Main Street Bakery even though it will be a ‘chain’ coffee shop. I’m underwhelmed by the bakery items offered at any Starbucks I’ve visited so probably wouldn’t visit if that’s what was offered. I’d just find something elsewhere before entering the park and miss grabbing a yummy bakery treat at the front of the park to enjoy on Main Street waiting for the rest of the Magic Kingdom to open up.
Love that they’re keeping something “similar” to the cinnamon rolls, but odds are I won’t bother going all the way to the back of the park for those and will just hope they bring them back to the original location when all of this shakes out. Crossing body parts for that!

Jenny — You should be able to get just the cookie over at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.
LoriD — The trek back to the waaaaaaay end of the park for the cinnamon rolls is my main concern, too. That’s not very user-friendly for breakfast! 🙂

I am just sad that Main Street bakery is becoming “commercialized” and turned into a Starbucks. I love Starbucks but it just doesn’t seem very “Disney” to be right on Main Street! I will miss the cinnamon buns!

If they do as good a job as they did at California Adventure, everyone will be very pleasantly surprised. Don’t judge before you see what they come up with. We ended up going every day we were at Disneyland since it was so nice. Iced coffee and an amazing chocolate fudge cupcake for an awesome afternoon snack comes to mind as one of the highlights!

This makes me so happy! Very happy to say this will be my breakfast in just 4 days!

I just hope the chocolate chocolate chip muffins make it back somewhere. I endulged quite a few times during our December trip just in case!

Just wondering if the yogurt parfaits and mini waffles would be snack credits? The prices look right, but there weren’t DDP symbols beside them.
lori s says
Are the mini waffles, Mickey waffles?
barbara says
are the food items (TBA) at Starbucks going to be DDP snack credits?

I will be in WDW next week and I can’t wait for the beignets!!! They are probably one of my most favorite treat. I always stop and get them in Disneyland so im so glad they are bringing them to Magic Kingdom and I hope they stay.
If you don’t get pic by then of which kind they are i’ll send some over 🙂

I have a banana bread pudding at the Bakery every night before leaving the Magic Kingdom. My sons have carrot cake and cupcakes. It has been our annual tradition for 9 years now so I’m sad we won’t be able to continue it in a couple weeks when we visit again. Hoping they keep the banana bread pudding once it reopens!

I had the beignets at Port Orleans resort on my last trip and they are NOT beignets. They are sopapillas. Beignets are not hollow. Sopapillas are hollow. Beingnets are more like doughnuts, only they have no hole in them. I have eaten both. I’ve had beingnets at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans and sopapillas in New Mexio.

I wonder what food items will be a snack credit? Interesting that they have the DDP logo next to the drinks, etc. but nothing next to the food items. Hopefully they will add the logo soon and someone will post a photo. Would love to update my Confirmed Snack Lists items.
Also, re: Starbucks @ Disney. I’m not a coffee drinker so it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other but I will say that since they opened at DCA the line has always been long. So it looks like many are liking the change. Personally, for me,
I enjoyed the Bakery before at DCA. Wasn’t too busy and I could always get hot water to make my own tea! 🙂 Starbucks won’t give out hot water-too hot they said, not safe.

Will be checking out breakfast at Tomorrowland Terrace next month. At least they’re making good use of the space. I agree with the comment from Dianna. Nothing like the New Orleans beignets. I eat breakfast every morning at Cafe du Monde when in NOLA. But, I applaud Disney’s attempt at being authentic when offering them at POFQ.
