Well, we’re busy putting together a HUGE-MONGOUS post for you this afternoon featuring ALL of the eats and drinks at the 2013 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.
But I couldn’t wait to showcase the star of the show — the Dole Whip with Spiced Rum at the Pineapple Promenade booth!
This menu item has proven to be so popular that THIS is what the line looked like when the booth first opened this morning!
Anyway, when you get YOUR Dole Whip with Rum, know that it will be a little smaller than what you’re used to when you purchase at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom.
It’s not served in “float” form — instead, prepare yourself for a regular serving of Dole Whip with a small amount Siesta Key Spiced Rum poured over the top. (How much rum? When we asked the cast member, he said “a small amount.” You’re not really even getting a shot.) That said, there are so many other things to sample the festival you’ll want to save room in your stomach AND be able to walk in a straight line, so it’s probably for the best. 😉
Flavor is a bit butterscotchy with the sweet pineapple, but you’ll mostly be getting that Dole Whip taste.
Here’s the rest of the menu from the Pineapple Promenade Booth!
- Dole® Whip
- Dole® Whip with Siesta Key Spiced Rum
- Pineapple Upside Down Cake featuring Dole® Pineapple
- Dole® Pineapple Fruit Cup
- Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade – Non Alcoholic
- Samuel Adams® Cream Stout
We’ll have a post up later today with ALL of the food pics from the Flower and Garden Festival marketplace booths, so stay tuned!

Even with the small amount of rum, it sounds and looks soooooooo good!
Do you have to be over 21 to purchase this? (maybe a dumb question)
How was the pineapple upside cake. It is one of my all time favorite cakes but I rarely get to have it. We will be there in early May so I will be torn, cake, Dole whip, or Dole whip with the cake.
Oh man, all these updates are getting me so excited for the festival! I’m going to have to find time in my schedule to get out there to Epcot ASAP. That spiked Dole Whip is calling me!
re: the lemonades. I see that this is “violet” lemonade and there is also a “rose blush” lemonade. Are these just colored with food coloring or are they actually flavored with flower extracts?
Or are there fruit flavors (perhaps the “violet” is grape infused?)?
We were there about 1:30 and there were only 2 people ahead of me in the Dole Pineapple line. Dole Whip, but to us the rum added a bitter taste – wish we had just stcuk to the “virgin” Dole Whip. {:–)
To answer the question about having to be 21: I was concerned about the same thing because DH was lounging on a bench hear the UK while I ran back to get us the couple of Dole Whips – they didn’t ask when I ordered 2 of them.
You do have to be 21 to purchase the spiced Dole Whips. Disney’s serving policy is two drinks per ID.
I’m going to have to try the spiked whip. Very excited they have food at the F&G.
I was disappointed. I expected something more like the conch cooler, but got a dole whip with some rum poured over it. Flavored rum might have worked better.
Not what I imagined but but I was imagining it swimming in rum. This makes a lot more sense. It still sounds yummy. I love Pineapple and I like butterscotch. I bet they go great together. If I can get down there it’s on my “must” list.
I’m a little disappointed by the dole whip with rum. I guess I was hoping for my usual Aloha Isle-style float with rum mixed into the pineapple juice. Maybe one day! Still looking forward to giving this a shot when I visit in May!!
Hey! We are in the picture of the people waiting in line for a rum dolewhip. We didn’t even see anyone taking it. About 3 hours later I was reading the review and there we are! We thought it was ok but the rum never mixed in with the dolewhip. Maybe we just ate it too fast! Lol. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. Oh BTW was it still morning? Heeheee.
That’s disappointing about the dole whip. For $6.25 I’d expect a little more rum 🙁
I was disappointed. I expected it to be mixed in with the Dole Whip rather than just poured over. The rum tasted cheap to me. I will stick with the traditional next go…which is this afternoon ;)…
Go to the Rose & Crown. Purchase spiced rum straight up to go. Bring it to the Dole Whip booth. Add it to your Dole Whip and enjoy. This is what we do for almost all the Disney cocktails in France, Morocco, and Mexico.
We need PICTURES of the other items. Would love to see the cake.

The Siesta Key Spiced Rum is a great choice! Made in Florida. And it has won tons of awards. Disney did not go cheap when choosing the rum.

Our ‘pourer’ was definitely heavy handed and we got a LOT of rum in ours last week, hehe!
Krissy — Ha ha ha!! Usually the pours lessen over the course of a festival! Glad to hear this might be going the other way!
