Hooray! It’s official… Disney has confirmed that PizzeRizzo is indeed opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this fall!

The spelling is a bit different from when the original rumors surfaced that Pizza Rizzo might be opening in the former home of Toy Story Pizza Planet, but other anticipated details remain the same. The new theme of the Counter Service pizza spot in the Studios will center around Muppet Rizzo the Rat!
Along with the artwork above, Disney also revealed that the Imagineering team responsible for the new eatery will hide “hints of Rizzo, his extended family and friends who have visited PizzeRizzo over the years throughout the two-story quick-service location,” owned and operated by Rizzo himself. Features will include a “cheesy” banquet room as well as a unique booth that is specifically designated for Rizzo’s celebrity pals.
Look for PizzeRizzo to open this fall in the Muppets Courtyard of Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

This was such a stupid move! Did Disney completely forget about the Swedish Chef??? Come on!!! It would have been awesome to have him interact with guests as he cooks different dishes!!!! Plus it would mean different choices to eat. There is already a newer Pizza Planet coming. I think guests would like other choices than TWO PIZZA PLACES!!! COME ON DISNEY!!! Change it to Swedish Chef and muppets quick before this becomes a major mistake!

I am not excited about this change. First, I don’t understand why Disney is emphasizing the muppets so much in their parks.. Neither the show not the movie did well. Second, on a more personal opinion, I loved pizza planet. Sure, the pizza was pretty bad, but the theming was so fun. It was classic toy story- a huge Disney hit. This change makes no sense to me.

I’m very excited as I love the Muppets and Rizzo’s ‘black olive’ nose! I hope the pizza is better than before and PLEASE bring the Mocha Cappuccino cupcakes back!

I love Rizzo! So happy to have this Muppet character in the new Muppet’s Courtyard restaurant. I’m sure Rizzo will be putting plenty of cheese on the pizzas!
Pizza planet was so much better. Toy Story is so much bigger than Muppets, people are going to think that Disney named a whole restaurant over the pizza rat youtube video.
I’m a child of the 70’s/80’s and will love the Muppets until my dying day. That said, the Swedish Chef would have been 100 times more exciting. They also could have taken the opportunity to offer a character breakfast. My kids laugh as hard as I do when we watch the old clips of the Chef flipping pancakes!! Plus, let’s face facts. Aside from the outstanding offerings at Via Napoli, there isn’t an exciting slice of pizza to be found on Disney property.
I don’t mind the Muppets but Disney has way too many Pizza and Italian places. Although a shirt would be awfully cute.
If they made it a Swedish restaurant we all know those two sisters would take over. I want a shirt too!
I love the muppets but, am I the only person who finds rat themed restaurants unappealing? I know Rizzo has a long history of food service but, I would have preferred a Swedish chef theme with maybe a reference to Rizzo rather than an all-rat themed restaurant. I know that’s kind of a part of the joke and that this isn’t Disney’s only rat-restaurant but, I find the whole “rats making your food” thing a little off-putting. Maybe it’s fun for kids though. I don’t know, I just know I would never be able to get my mom into an eating establishment with a rat on the logo.
by “celebrity pals”, I am hoping they mean animatronic muppets in the restaurant.. that would be fun..

I love Rizzo and all his pals, Swedish Chef included. However, I really really hope this means some better quality CS food at Hollywood Studios. It’s so bad right now that we (& many others) leave the park to eat CS anywhere else on Disney property.
I wonder if the theming will be similar to Bistrot Chez Remy in Disneyland Paris.
Actually the Muppet show and movies were EXTREMELY popular in their time. I would like to see Jim Henson’s original idea for Gonzo’s Pandemonium Pizza Parlor (which includes the Swedish chef and Rizzo). Henson’s ideas were always the best!
