You’re invited to ring in 2018 with an extra-special version of Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness Campground… it’s Mickey’s New Year’s Eve BBQ!!
Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale will be on hand for the big celebration. But they’re not the only friends… a DJ and bluegrass musicians will join in the fun, too! A video feed of Times Square will allow everyone to view the happenings in the Big Apple, but guests won’t envy watching the folks near the traditional ball drop, as they’ll be viewing the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Fireworks from a special viewing area (and adults can enjoy champagne along with the show!).
One thing won’t change about this special edition BBQ, though… it will still feature all-you-care-to-enjoy FOOD!! Unique offerings for the event will include Bacon Jam Burger Sliders grilled on site, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Baked Potatoes with assorted toppings, a variety of meats including baked salmon, beef brisket and Italian sausage (as well as a hot vegetarian meal option), assorted cold salads, and appetizers including a cheese board, bread, and fresh fruit.
Wagon Wheel Mac’n’Cheese will be just one of the options for the kids, and everyone will enjoy ending 2017 with something sweet, as desserts will include Mini S’mores served in Mason Jars, cherry cheesecake, and chocolate truffles.
The party kicks off at 8:30 pm on New Year’s Eve at the Fort Wilderness Pavilion. (Remember, the Pavilion is covered, but you’ll still be outside, so dress accordingly!) The price is $95 per adult and $75 per child. To book the New Year’s Eve BBQ call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 (online booking is not available for this particular event).
One thing’s for sure…
… you’re bound to have a RIP ROARIN’ New Year at Mickey’s New Year’s Eve BBQ!

Just wanted to thank you for all your up-to-the-minute Disney information that you send to us!!!! THANK YOU !!!! Thank you. I was able to snag our reservations for Mickey’s New Year’s Eve Bar-B-Que! Was able to get them that very day in September that your email went out — I credit you, AJ, and your amazing co-Disney Food Blog crew! Really appreciate your prompt, informative, and timely pixie-dusted, magical event happenings going on at Disney! which enables us (your readers) a chance to be a part of these amazing Disney events. THANK YOU. 🙂
Judy! You’re so sweet! I’ll share this with the team. And you’re so welcome. Have a great trip!
Good morning!
We have a group that will be heading down for NYE in Disney this year (Lord, help us! LOL) and are hoping to do the Backyard BBQ for NYE. Do you have any insight as to if this fun 8:30pm will be offered again? And if so, any thoughts on when it might become available? As we are a group of 12, I don’t want to miss out on getting it booked asap when it comes available. Any ideas, thoughts, or hypotheses are welcome! I appreciate your site and all your fun and interesting articles! You make planning my dining more fun, if not more challenging….I want to try everything you highlight! Good thing calories don’t count in Disney 🙂
Andrea, no way to know if they’ll for sure bring back this celebration, but we’d guess yes. Reservations were made available in September last year, so you might start checking then (or right at 180 days out). We’ll post when we see it, too — so if you’re not already receiving the DFB Newsletter, consider signing up for it so you don’t miss the announcement!
