If you’ve dined in Disney Springs since last May, you will want to be informed about a data security incident as posted by Earl Enterprises.
Three Disney Springs restaurants have been potentially affected by a credit card breach: Earl of Sandwich, Chicken Guy!, and Planet Hollywood.
Guests who dined at these locations between May 23, 2018 and March 18, 2019 are advised to examine their credit card statements. According to the notice by Earl Enterprises: “malicious software was designed to capture payment card data, which could have included credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates and, in some cases, cardholder names.”
The notice also reads that “Online orders paid for online through third-party applications or platforms were not affected by this incident.”

Several people I work with also had several cards comprised after Disney springs – for over $1000 – Disney tickets, restaurant s, merchandise etc. now I only use cash – Disney gift cards- we live in Polk county – lakeland- winter haven area. I did use my card at duke of earl so will watch out. Thanks

Only surprised is that it wasn’t sooner
What a joke! When other companies have negligently let their consumer credit information get compromised, they usually respond with an offer of some sort of credit monitoring from a year. Earl Enterprise responds with — “hey, keep an eye on your credit card statements”. It’s not just the possibility of a card being used fraudulently, but someone using the information to commit identity theft.
Waiting for the class action suit. I’ll happily sign up. In the meanwhile, I’ll avoid all of the named restaurants–I don’t care how tasty the food is if it exposes me to identity theft and the company responsible for securing my credit information won’t take responsibility for their security lapses.
Oh good lord chill Barry! You’re credit card company will handle the disputes. The sky isn’t falling…unless you’re using a debt card to as a credit card and that’s just not wise. Credit cards Have security and procedures in place. You don’t even have to pay on the fradulent purchases while you are disputing them. Relaxxxxxxx there will not be a class action suit. A judge would laugh it off.
None of the people, including myself, whose credit card info was stolen in the British Airline breach were compensated. I was travelling but luckily spotted my card being used fraudently. Had to cancel the card and was without it for the trip. Am so tired of these security breaches. It’s not just the new card but notifying all the companies who use the card for monthly or otherwise payments.
Just wondering if your credit card was linked to your magic band, and you used it to purchase food at these restaurants during the breach period, would your credit card still be affected? I think it’s terrible that this information is just coming out now. I try to use cash at restaurants and fast food counters as often as I possibly can. I know it’s a hassle, but at least you don’t have to worry about incidents like this.
Arlene, you’d probably want to reach out via the contact info at the end of the post, just to be sure.
