It’s time to stroll through Walt Disney World’s dining, shopping, and entertainment district to see What’s New in Disney Springs!
What’s New in Disney Springs Menu Updates and Eats
We’re starting from the ground up, and by that we mean a burger with bugs on it. D-Luxe Burger (we’re resisting the urge to say BUG-er) is currently offering a Grub Burger, complete with gelatinous worms, spiders, and grasshoppers in flavors of tomato, basil, and balsamic. We didn’t love the odd-tasting bugs… or their gelatin-like textures. But the caprese-topped burger beneath was great!
Click here to read our full Grub Burger review!
, the Irish-inspired quick service spot, introduced six new burgers and sandwiches. We really enjoyed these (no gelatin bugs in sight — just chipotle aioli, onion rings, and Dubliner cheese!). See our full review here!
Over at Goofy’s Candy Co., treats celebrating the titular pup hold court in the pastry case.
You’ll also find cake pops representing everyone’s favorite one-eyed monster, Mike Wazowski (with one “i”! Not funny? These are the jokes, kid!)
In preparation for the fourth of July, Goofy’s got a selection of red, white, and blue treats including caramel apples, marshmallows, cookies, cupcakes, and more. We love the little firecracker marshmallow sticks! See the little licorice “wick”?
And hey, here’s a sweet tip: on our past few visits to Goofy’s, a cast member has been tearing off samples of tasty cotton candy! On this visit it was strawberry-banana, but click here to see some of the other gourmet flavors they’re spinnin’ at Goof’s shop.
Over at Morimoto Street Food — the quick service arm of the fabulous Morimoto Asia — the Chef has added Gator Waffle Cones to the menu. Initially they appeared on the table service restaurant menu for the Flavors of Florida event that’s taking place all over Disney Springs, but it’s now extended to both outlets!
If you’re going to swing your tail into Morimoto Street Food for the Gator Waffles, you’ll need to calm your chompers because these are made fresh-to-order and take about 15 minutes to prepare. Once you’ve got ’em, you might discover they’ve got a little… bite. 😉
It’s not a new beat, but House of Blues in West Side is advertising its Gospel Brunch on Sundays.
They’re also pouring on the promos with a Daily Happy Hour board. Well Drinks indeed. 😉
And in food for the ear, the schedule of events for July at House of Blues is out! Diners (and rockers) can find acts like a Journey Tribute band called Departure, a Bon Jovi cover band called Slippery When Wet, and — not covering anything but rocking nonetheless — Carly Rae Jepsen. She’s hoping fans will call her, maybe.
At Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, pick up your red, white, and blue candy cookies. They’re huge and packaged for eating on the go. We say get two.
The temperatures are rising, but at Pizza Ponte, the wine pops are freezing cold! Stick to the alcoholic offerings or chill with the family-friendly versions — either way, your tastebuds will be popping (and you’ll get a little reprieve from the heat!)! Click here to see how much less expensive these wine pops are than their identical counterparts at Epcot!
Toy Story 4 opened two weekends ago, and the movie is still going strong at the box office. And at Starbucks, the toys are still back in town on the coffee chain’s Land of Toys Specials! They all sound like a lot of fun, if you’re asking us.
What’s New in Disney Springs Construction
In construction news, the NBA Experience is getting set to open on August 12, and recently signs went up on the exterior to let everyone know where they can take their foul shots, get their wingspans measured, and take it to the hoop for a slam dunk. We’re excited to get in on the action! Click here to read more about the activities coming to the NBA Experience!
What’s New in Disney Springs Merchandise
At World of Disney, we spotted a new-to-us collection of necklaces and bracelets. There are some seriously fun designs here. Check out that three-dimensional Teacup!
To go with your new jewelry: long-sleeve tees in bold colors with the Walt Disney World text running down one sleeve. We love how simple these are… and the fact that they’re not spirit jerseys. We’re going with green; which one will you choose?
World of Disney also has this adorable iPhone X cover with a little tiny Baymax peeking over the top. Talk about saying cheese for a selfie; he’ll make you grin every time!
Of course, if summer means days at the beach, lake, or pool… or television… you’ll need to keep your drinks cool and cozy. Disney has a line of beverage holders. We’ve seen these for a bit, but the Walt Disney World 71 design is new to us!
Over at Pin Traders, they’ve got a new line-up of ID Holders. Two feature vinyl straps, so you can probably poke your pins through there, too, and all the designs are fun! Cinderella Castle and Minnie Mouse are $16.99; the retractable Most Magical Place on Earth design is $12.99.
We also spotted a charming Fort Wilderness Pin at Pin Traders. Mickey is for sure living his best life here, and how ’bout Minnie with her pinky up. She keeps it classy (on a pin!) even when she’s camping!
Ever After is a good bet for the trendiest purses and bags, and they’ve got the Disney Parks Collage Loungefly collection. Click here for a closer look (and links to buy them online!).
Ever After also has the Toy Story Dooney & Bourke collection. See these ones up close here!
Meanwhile at D-Tech, they’ve released a new line of magnets which, at present, are $12.99 each. But soon, they’re expecting to be able to customize these for an additional $3. Which one will you buy?
The Dress Shop has all the pretty dresses on display, including…
…this one. You know you want it. And if you say no, this jumpsuit with skirt-cape will haunt your dreams. Click here to see the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Disney’s Days of Christmas has some great Resort-specific ornaments! Old Key West has a two-sided porcelain option.
There’s a design each for the Port Orleans Resorts.
And the winner for most adorable ornament: the Art of Animation ornament which looks like a little canvas! We can get this even if it’s been a while since our last stay at the Resort, right?
Basin has some lovely seasonal items, including these patriotic bath salts.
There are also a few designs for patriotic soaps, too.
These little popsicles are SO CUTE!
This rainbow Mickey soap is good for Pride and fun!
And while the restaurants of Disney Springs are celebrating the Flavors of Florida, Basin has you covered for the smells.
And that’s it! We’ve rinsed off all the What’s New at Disney Springs, keeping it fresh and clean for ya. Join us next time for another shower of new food, construction, merch, and more from the Disney Parks!
